Questions on the action in Phuket.

Sorry to bore all you guys, I'm sure all these questions have been asked many times but please help. I've been to Pattaya a dozen times, but this will only be my second time to Phuket.

So I'm hoping that you guys can help answer my Newbie questions. In return I'm willing to post some naughty Thai pictures that I have taken on previous trips (If they are allowed on this site and you are swayed by bribes !)

1) Are there any decent GoGos in town ? (Talking quality of girls, not silly shows, pulling out razer blades))
2) Are there any soapies in town ?
3) Apart from the main Drag are there any other streets with beer bars ?
4) Where are the best Night Clubs ? (Do they stay open after 2am?)
5) When I was there in November they were very strict on the 2am closing, is this still the case ? If so where will be open to watch the Euro football after 2am ?
6) Are there any other smaller resorts within easy reach that have many beer bars ?

Thanks for all your help, If anybody has any questions on Pattaya please ask.

Question Answers

1. Rock Hard is a good gogo club. Nice-looking girls. Get there early (9:00) if you want your pick of the best. On Bangla near intersection of Rat-U-Thit which is main intersection in Patong. Also a little farther down Bangla on the same side of the street is Soi Sea Dragon which has several gogos, in addition to many bars. PlaySchool is in Soi SeaDragon.
2. Christins
3. Soi Sea Pearl is on Sawatdirak Road across the street from Thara Patong Hotel. To get there from Bangla, go left exiting Bangla, go down Rat-U-Thit to the next traffic light, make a left, then look on the right past the 7-11. Country Bar and Sexy Bangla Bar are in front on the road, other Bars are behind them. In addition to Bangla Sois and Soi Sea Pearl there is another bar soi, Soi Dontal is the name I think(?) off the Beach Road (Thaweewong Road)between Bangla and Sawatdirak Road which is the road Sea Pearl is on. It is much closer to Sawatdirak than Bangla. In my opinion, Soi Eric off Bangla is the best bar soi for good-looking girls, fun, and good non-sleazy atmosphere.
4. Best night clubs(in addition to Dragon) include Tai Pan on Rat-U-Thit near Bangla, Tiger Disco on Bangla upstairs from Tiger bars, and Banana disco on the Beach Road( Go down Bangla to Beach Road and turn left). They are supposed to close at 2:00 but are sometimes open to 2:15 or 2:30, when the police come and make them close.
5. There are a number of after-hours places(but not BG bars) and Euro soccer on TV is everywhere.
6. I've heard Karon has some good bars, but I haven't been there. Maybe somebody else could comment on that.

If anybody knows some better places, I would like to hear about them, too.

I spend more time in Karon then in Patong! Two areas :

The Karon center on the beach-road to Kata. Be careful quiet some ladyboys too, leave thet to dirty mike!

The road fom Karon to Phuket town, just in the beging after the beachroad! Very good athmosphere here espacially the ones on the road themself! I liked here a lot! But you have to be lucky!!! Not all that pretty, and of course much less choice then in Patong. But again I prefer the athmosphere here! I took sometimes a girl from Patong, when there was no girl that attrackted me, and spend the evening here with the girl and lads!

Also a place I discoverd where I took 2 beautiful girls, Also the road Karon -Phuket-town, on the intersection to Kata, on the left coming from Karon!

Two bars only next to each other, but there was quality in April!!

So rent a motorbike, don't get killed and enjoy

Question Hotels

Karon sounds like it is worth checking out. Any recommendations on hotels and what are the typical prices for last high season or current low season. I like the prices on the BGs.

hi jaybee,

the normal b/g price is 1000 bht or more, but the girl i went with only charged 500, -the hotel resorts can be expensive, the resort i stayed at wanted 500 extra per night ! but there are some lodging type places in karon town and they are guest friendly ,these are normally rooms above a shop/restaurant

http://www.phuketdir.com/location.htm

You can also check http://www.phuketdir.com/location.htm

Dont forget that in low season you can always speak about the rates. If you say that you found cheaper for the same room close their hotel, they can make you a better price.
Good site where you can also find cheap rooms.

Hi r3aps,

I know that you can fin a house for rent in Kamala for 8,000 bath/month with 2 bedrooms (only one with aircon), a nice kitchen, and a livingroom with TV (i dont knoW if they have sat). First they ask 15,000 bath, but you can speak.

Very easy to find in Kamala. If you need some contact, I can find it for you.

Cheers

Thats because the two people who answered you r respected and did a good job...

Since you'd like another opinion - Heres my take on it...

1) Best agogos are Playschools and Rock Hard - I prefer Playschool because its nice and tight + the grils are not nasty like the rest on Soi Seadragon. The fact that they are dancing in school uniforms that barely cover anything also has a nice appeal . Rock hard on the other hand beats the remainder because of the shear number of good looking girls it has + happy hour...

2) Soapies at Christines - Some in Phuket Town: Just ask a driver to take you to the Phuket ones as hard to find (Same price range as Christins so unless you wnat to go to Phuket Twon for some other reason no point really)

3) Apart from Soi Bangla, the Beach Road north of Bangla all the way up the next main intersection has intetmittent Bars. Just around the corner of the intersection is Soi Seapearl which is probably the largest single non-bangla area. Also up in around the corner from Tain Pan off the end of Soi Bangla (Other side of street) has some bars. Then on top of this there are places in Karen, Kata and Phuket Town (Phuket Town has its on little red light strip which is good for budget ST).

4) Don't like Tiger - I like Dragon Disco and they stay open very late, or better put not so early in the morning - last time left at 5 am and the place was still going. Still can't get the music out of my head either...

5) Bars close around 2am and Tai Pan a bit later - As for soccer the bar directly across from Hard Rock along Bangla right on the corner has a big Screen and I can remember watching a Sweden Vs English friendly there recently even after Tai Pan shut (Which would make it very late but too drunk to remember the time exactly)

6) Karan and Kata.
