Parts of Patong Possibly Closed Sat 27 Oct

Endeavoring to find out more but Crusty's waitress has just informed me that parts of Patong (apparently NOT BANGLA) will have bar closures due to some sort of Orbator decree on Sat 27 Oct, from 1800. Will try to find out more and keep you info'd.

PS sorry about the Pats bit- should have read PARTS. Crusty's keys still sticking.

Any news already about this? We'll land in Bangkok 27, so might as well be
a good idea to stay there 1 night.

I think Denver spilt some jammy dodgers when he was here the other day. Here's the bit from the Phuket gazette-Phra Baramee Rd Sois 1 to 9 in Patong are at the North end of Patong ( its the road that turns off to Kamala so we should be OK). More to follow when I've confirmed.

OrBorJor by-election in Kathu forces alcohol ban

KATHU: An alcohol ban effective from 6 pm Saturday will be imposed on parts of Kamala and Patong where an Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (OrBorJor) by-election will take place on Sunday.

According to a document issued by the Phuket Election Commission, the ban will last until midnight Sunday.

Affected areas include Kamala Villages 1 to 6; Kathu Village 6 and Phra Baramee Rd Sois 1 to 9 in Patong.

Other parts of Patong, including Soi Bangla, will not be affected.

A PEC official told the Gazette that anyone in the affected areas caught selling alcohol during prohibited hours will be subject to up to six months in jail or a 10,000 baht fine.

The by-election is being held to find a replacement for ex-OrBorJor member Wissanu Dumlak, who resigned.

There are 9,929 registered voters in the district who are eligible to cast ballots at 19 polling stations.

The three candidates for the constituency are Sanit Chukid, Charoon Aksorn and Manas Kasemwichitpong.

Prohibiting alchool sales to only some soi (streets) for whatever reason is the most stupid idea I ever heard.
If I will tell this to my friends in my own country, they would never believe me!
Thailand never cease to be amazing.

Promise to be quiet, sit in the corner. You won't know we are there. We promise to bring your women back in the morning.

**** Turpin and the KBG have been given their tea money for the night and are spending it on fizzy pop and a couple of bags of crisps. Easy innit!

55555555 Brilliant, can't use **** Turpin 5555555555
