I recently met up with a girl in Patong that I hadn't seen in
over a year. She use to be a lovely girl, really great sense
of humour, and nice personality.

She's changed big time since I last saw her. Apparantly she
lived with her farang boyfriend for about six months in Patong.
He even bought her her own business, which she promptly
sold three months later and did a runner back to Issan. She's
only been back in Patong a few weeks and dosen't work bar
anymore (yeah right!)

Anyway, to get to the point. She seemed to have lost that spark that use to make her special. At first, I put this down to being jaded from having worked in the bar for to long. Then I started noticing certain other things about her, she rarely ate and
had a lot of trouble sleeping. So I start thinking that maybe
she's on Yaba.

Now I know absolutely nothing about this drug, but a couple
of people I met in Bangkok have told me to stay away from girls
who do this sort of shit. Basicly, could someone with more
knowledge than me tell me what the deal is with this drug?
What signs do people who take Yaba show? What effect will
taking this drug have on her? And of course, should I give this
girl a wide margin?

These are the most obvious visual side effects of taking Yabba! (so named because it makes you talk too much).

They make the tablets in Burma (Myanmar). Cost about 3 baht to make. Cross over the border, now many people in Thailand sell these, the police shoot to kill dealers. Responsible for a lot of crime in small villages, it really does send you mad.

It's hard not care for these girls, but what can you do?

yabah is meta apphetamine and means crazy drug - ya is drug/tablet/medicine and bah is crazy.

The police track down drug dealers and users all the time and drug users may end up in jail sooner or later...

Also bar/club owners must be aware of this, if your staff or customers use drugs they may close the bar for 30 days.

Ya Ba is very strong over such club drugs like extasy ect. People just go crazy on the Stuff sometimes...It is now in Honolulu in fact there was an arrest from the plane at U.S. Customs when I came back a few weeks ago! It is really bad stuff...
Remember Now! You can be requied to give a Urine sample on the spot and if you are positive....You'll likely be sent home with a note in your record at Passport Control....

Thanks for your replys everyone, just have a couple more
questions.

How is this drug going to effect this girl long term? Is it like
taking Heroin or Crack where your deffinately going to end
up screwing your life up? Is Yaba basicly like speed but
more potent, and more addictive.

I'm just curious to find out what the future holds for this
girl.
