sit in bar without hassles
Just wondering if I just can sit in a bar with a drink without being hassled or do I have to look for a bar without BG's working there ?

If you sit in a bar with BG's in it......& unless you look like the elephant man, the BG's will most likely talk to you.
All you need to do is politely ask to be left alone. Tell them u have a GF and she doesn't want you to talk to other girls.

A lot of bars works just like home,girls go two shift and have this just as a ordinary work,notting more into than that,just they have to deal with al the idots that just dont anderstand that
 Bars like shipwreck etc is mainly just a tourist plase just like every where else,just more busy

Steve sometimes that can be quite difficult, constant massaging, or you buy me dlink nah??, sellars of stuff you do not want, pictures with really large grasshopperish looking reptiles with omnidirectional eye sockets, drunk customers wanting to tell you about some boring subject in a very loud voice combined with buckets of spittle, men in frocks asking where Denver is.
So Rikky your answer is yes its possible, just hang with Steve!!!

Think we onest hope we did,but those places are just some tourist spots nothing more., But some idots that have made to a science to f.. girls and pay and tell us ,do think al the places they go they can behave like teenagers who never been touck by a womand hand. Its quite irritating for normal people

I found Aussie Bar to be free of girls demanding drinks and genuine yet reasonably financed affection. They know guys are too busy watching sport.
But I like sport, buying drinks and genuine yet reasonably financed affection.

There used to be several bars like that in BKK, where you could go and have a conversation and a brew. Trouble was most of the patrons looked like centerfolds from SOF magazine or something. I was always worried i would run into some one I didn't really want to. Most of the bars were on the Soi before the main Patpong street, I forgot the name of it.

Dodger, now ya mentioned it...it got me thinking....
You have the kid/mother selling chewing gum, the cigarette sellers, the rose sellers, the garland sellers, the cigarette lighter & keyring sellers, the iguana & gibbon photographers, the dvd sellers, the chiang mai sellers, plus any others I forgot. Depends on how quiet there business is, but I reckon I've been approached by all of them, sometimes within 30 mins of sitting down in a bar. That's all before you get the "what's you name, where you from, how long you stay" line from.5555555 As to the OP, Mav's advice is what I often use in dealing with annoying BG's.....let em know you hab girlfriend. Steve@........I have a head like a smashed crab.

Aw, now come on, how hard can it to be to sit in a bar on one of the most famous streets in the world and say 'I'm fine thank you, I'm just having a drink'. That's how easy it is, if being asked to buy 10bahts worth of chewing gum a couple of times a night is a 'hassle' then maybe I misunderstood the question.

After reading Dodgers post, it reminded me of all the other goings on, that's all. 9 trips for me so far & there's gonna be more.....I can live with it. |
