Phuket in Feb?
Hi All
Been reading the forum for a while heading down there at the end feb 08 with 12 lads. Is it true that you get a better rate for bhat in phuket itself? I am flying from the UK so just planned on bring pounds and taking it from there. Are the bars still busy as it is not high season? Are the BG's out in force? Any recommendations of places to visit or bars to go to would be welcome, have tried looking along the threads but some of them seem quite old. Although got some names of places to go. Ages of the party is between 30 - 46 a really mixture of ages Sorry if this information is already else where, your input would be valued as none of us have been there before and just want to have a top laugh and a really good time as only there for 5 days. Staying close to Bangla road so should be able to walk everywhere. Thanks

Just enter Bangla road and you will find it all alive and kicking. It's still high season and plenty of girls around.....Do a small bar-crawl and you will soon find a place you like  Geir

Dodger can you detail these tours a bit more? May take you up on it What is the situation with currency does it really make a difference if i buy it there? Also with the group being 12 of us together are we better off going to the bigger bars as more bg's there? Or will even the little places accommodate us? Cheers

you'll get a better rate if you change the money in thailand...
as for the Dodger-tours...bring your own straw with you...the ones he provides are of bad quality..555

I was in LOS for the 1st 2 weeks of January with 4 other friends all of our 1st time there and coming from someone who just got back i wish i was going with you and your friends already. coming from the states it was better to do the exchange rate in patong. I agree with Patrs it will be better to be in smaller groups. if u can pack and repack about 3 times before you go cause trust me you will not need everything u pack the 1st time......... HAVE FUN

As for the large group thing we normally end up spending all day together start of together at night and then within a few hours smaller groups are formed and everyone goes there separate ways. Will we encounter issues if we go out in big groups? Also going on a tour of the phi phi islands by private speed boat is 2500 bhat per person too expensive does anyone know, its a whole day thing?
