Bars closed Sat 23.

Latest news is that the bars in Patong will be closed only 1 day. From 6pm on Sat. 23. until the same time the next day.....
For those who wonder, Thursday will be open as normal........

Some closed in Kamala at the moment and some open! Didn't even notice the new bar in front of the Beergarden until today.

Just back from Patong and it seemed usual daytime business on Bangla (in the zone area) Blokes asleep on bar stools still holding their Heinekens at 11 in the morning...............Bless em.

Geir, before you leave this thread for good, are the bars closed any dates between 18.March and 6.April?

I think the bars have been closed one or two days every time I have been to Thailand, maybe I am more lucky this time?

Full booze ban for Senatorial election

Unless changes are announced, the ban on alcohol sales will apply from 6 pm on Friday, February 22 thought till midnight the following Sunday; then again from 6 pm on Saturday March 1 though till midnight the following Sunday.

Not quite random but no one ever knows how "strict" these bans will be.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to quickly mention: 'Drink-O-Bag'

The lightweight solution to all your bar closing day dilemmas!

PM me for details of 'Drink-O-Bag............You won't be disappointed.

*I may take a while answering as I am currently attached to one now.

Hic!

Sorry Sars you have just got to know where to go and perhaps, its not on to put this in an open forum.

Last night in Lala all the bars were closed for Buddha day, Duncs and I had a very nice meal, quite a few beers and came home by 12 (with duncs fighting off the advances of one of the attractive waitresses), my mate went on a little further and didn't come in until 4.30am, these and several other venues here were serving in coffee mugs, others were giving you a bottle of water with your first drink, to look good from a distance!!

Tonight same same and then Saturday we will be having a little barbee at home, got the supplies in today, flagon of Rosso, three cases of tiger and a few barcardi breezers for the girls. Been experimenting for weeks now to make the perfect burger so will get a good test, perfected my Thai marinade for the pork chops (copied from Don) and even found two different bottles of hot sauce for my buckets of buffalo wings, Gee's handling the prawns, clams and thai stuff. Just got to pop down the local market for my sun dried, fly ridden, mozzy egged buffalo steaks, hoping he wasn't too sick before they butchered him and heh presto, bar closing, nah!!!

Only posted all the above to make your stay in that little bit worse!!!!!555555!!!

Best tip probably would be to pop up to xxxxx xxxx, might get a little action and a few coffee beers up there!

I'm having a quiet night in tonight then.

If I'm invited to the 'Hills' then I'll bring a 'Drink-O-Bag' (re-usable - wash with bottled water or methylated spirits)

Just had a thought..............I've not driven a motorbike attached to a 'Drink-O-Bag' - I might have to go out and have a practise tomollow.

Dodger, I have oxo cubes if you need them, down to my last four!

Drat was going to go on and tell you about the home made cumberland sausages, couldn't get hold of Trent ,otherwise would have had the supreme ones plus the spicy american jobbies, but just test run a couple by Dinks and Gee and they passed the salivatingarisaring test.

I've tried them BeeGees numbers, Staying Alive used to make my toes tap but not much fun on your own!! still maybe you'll get off to Night Fever!!!!!!!

Popped along to Nangs tonight for the Cheeseburger Special with extra cheese and she had the bar open!

While I was waiting for my Burgery treat a MIB came along on his Honda and started waving at her. She went out to see him and came back and straight into the kitchen. The four of us having a discreet Tiger at the bar had placed our bottles behind the bar and started whistling...............as you do.

Ten minutes later and just before my Burger was ready, another cop car turned up with his red lights flashing, the door opened and out popped a MIB and dropped a pizza off to Nang before heading back towards the Police station!!!!

Weird...................I don't get it me!

Bangala was a sorry site tonight with all the bars closed. Another night of this and I might become sober. Denver you could have sold a rail car load of Drink-O-Bags. Not that many people on the street. I think this maybe the biggest mini-bar sale in the history of the hospitality industry.

By tomorrow night Bangala is going to look like Dawn of the Dead with people going through alcohol withdrawal.
