Can one of our more enlightened American BM please explain why so many of your fellow countrymen come onto a Phuket forum with the sole intention of telling us how things are said or done in the USA. I imagine if people want to know about the USA they would join an American forum.

I am in no way defending this argumentative pr1ck, but could you give me another example or more (so many...) of the above?

Or, are we just "yank bashing" again?

No offence meant Pabs and no not Yank Bashing. Not gonna give examples as to do so would just point the finger at individuals and then the fight would escalate into a slagging match. If you don't notice it then OK let it go.

if i may back 2 the original question - i have a mate going 2 patong in a couple of weeks ,& asked me - is the 2.00am shut down in force now or sometimes earlier at 1.00am & more importantly are there any more bar closures/alcohols bans due to elections/holidays/birthdays etc coming up at end of april /early may?
he 's looking into staying at summerbreeze & will have 1st beer at MTB & say g'day to Nicke.

The same kind of question applies to myself. I'll arrive yet again april 29.
Does the 2.00am closure applies to all establishments, i.e. Tai Pan, Tiger Disco, Baya ... ?
I can only hope that the rule will be weakened after another 3 weeks.

I got back yesterday, and 2am closing was in force in most sois off Bangla. There are however still places away from Bangla you can continue drinking much later.

@ gary09 Your friend will love it at Summer Breeze. A great friendly hotel with a very good location.

I don't recall seeing at Phuket airport, but I'm sure the txi drivers would be happy to have a go at driving it.

Does it appear to be a bit more relaxed these days? I made a rare trip up to Safari this weekend and they were still open --- with a decent crowd --- when I left at 4, and no MiBs in sight.

I believe also Seduction stayed open until about 3.

Looks like its a bit relaxed, music still stop 02 but there is no hurry to empty or close the bar quickly. So between 2 or 3 seems OK to close the bar, for me has been around 2.30.
