Did I have to pay?
Hi all, I'm new in this forum.
I recently came back from Phuket where i stayed for 2 nights (my first time in Thailand). The first night I met an amazing Thai girl in Tiger club. She told me that she is a college student on holidays there with her friends. At the beginning I was quite suspicious and I was expecting her to ask for money. However, the same night she came to my hotel and she didn't mention anything about money. I spent the rest of my time in Phuket (I have to admit that it was some of the best in my life) with her and her friends and I was very happy to pay for her food and drinks (however sometimes her friends paid for my drinks too). Back home a friend told me that I had to give her some money even if she didn't ask for any. Actually I was thinking about it but I didn't offer anything not to make her feel bad. Did I have to give her some money anyway? We kept texting and web-chatting for couple of weeks after I came back home but recently she asked me to stop cause she is back to her ex-BF.

Yes, well, lets see... you "met" her at Tiger-- Freelancer Central?-- then went back to your hotel to do the nasty. Sounds like typical "good girl" behavior, does it not?
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... So, cheap charlie, you got a freebie. Proud of yourself? "But she didn't want money!" Okay how about help with next semester's tuition? Or books? Or take her shopping for some new outfits? up2u, of course, but this reeks of intentional naivety. My .69 baht... I could be wrong.

You never know unless you ask them or they ask you for money.
Several years back I met a gal in Tai Pan and spent many nights with her. She was not a FL and I never paid her. I met her kids who went to the fancy international school in Phuket, and rode around the island with her in her SUV. I also met a number of her friends, who were the same as her: single moms with kids, who had a nanny to watch the kids, and liked to go out to party in the bars there. They didn't need your money, and there was never a question of money, although, of course, they expected you to pay for drinks, meals, etc., and appreciated the occasional gift. And, yes, they would have been offended if offered money for sex. OTOH, I also met several girls down from BKK, who had real jobs there and were in Phuket on holiday. They were pretty choosy about who they went with, wanted the BF experience, but still definitely expected to get money from you to help pay for their holiday. To be on the safe side, if you are not sure, the girl doesn't drop any hints, and you think she might be offended by the idea of pay for play, then simply take her shopping and buy her some stuff. Either way, she will love that.

I think it depends a lot on the age. If a 46 year old goes out to Tiger and meets a 25 year old girl who is "crazy" about him we can all make an educated guess that it is likely p4p related. However when a 20 year old guy meets a 20 year old girl and they like each other then it might very well be a one night stand.

It seem's like you will never know poe76.......it is also very difficult to know when we are being fed b*llsh*t as Thai girls can be very convincing.We have all heard the stories more than once.
Her story seems genuine...... and I personally have had similar experiences and I'm sure there are many BM that this has happened too as well. IMO because we socialise in the P4P area's of Thailand we always assume that all the girls are working girls...ie, BG&FL's...in most cases they are but there are a few that are not.(very difficult to know). I can understand that you might not want to hurt her feelings and the situation might be awkward......but in this situation I would normally offer money for salon,food or perfume etc. Just my opinion though!!

How come that never happen to me. I'm a handsum man.
Last trip I met a girl from BKK at Banana she was on Holiday in Phuket. Cool girl, really down to earth, but at the end of 2 days I gave her some money and she was on her way.

And her cousin is worth a few bob or two as well, works out in the gym 7 days a week, fit as a butchers dog, no regular men either of them, I'll try and put a few words in for you Noddy, but reckon these girls are a bit more hip hop!!

my view,
if she's a student from bkk or out state (Ex:hatyai,chiang mai) then she's not a pro. if she's a student from around here (ex:ranong,nakhon) then she's a working girl coz locals girls here normally don't party in patong unless boyfriend comes along. also, there's a possibility that the girl you met were a pro from bkk. last week 7 girls finished their contract with club 215 & were holidaying in patong for 4 days. then again, who cares whether pro,student,innocent?? fun is what we are looking for, isn't it?

Id have to agree with taking her shopping, its cost a little but means alot to them.... The look on their face when you buy something even small is priceless.....

If it were my first trip to Thailand, I probably would have done the same as you. Now, I..or one of my friends....would casually give her 1000 baht for shopping money in the morning. Truthfully, I would probably sh*t my pants if I were offered a freebie these days.
