How much do Gogo-Girls earn per month?
a) get she paid by the owner of the bar for dancing? b) how much do they get commission for a lady drink? 50% probably? or do they get nothing for the lady drinks? c) do they have a target how many lady drinks they have to sell per day? >> how much do a Gogo-Girl earn per month (without any special service) just for dancing in the bar ???

there is no gf. you can also think on the income of a ordinary BG - the business should be the same (just without dancing).
I mean a gogo does a little bit more then a BG, they dance and do some shows (BG just play 4-wins  the question is, because the average monthly income of a thai family (both working) is about 15.000 Baht. I just wanna know how much they get and what the rules are for working in a gogo. going with customers is individuell. Many gogo's, many salaries, many rules...
In general they have a salary, but that is depending on the gogo they work at, and what they do (dance topless or do special shows mostly means a higher salary). I'd guess they will get about 15000 bhat in salary + from their percentage on ld's with not too much trouble. Some maybe a bit more, some maybe a bit less. That is without the cut they get from bf's and what a guy pays for taking them to the room, or without money they get from sponsors. Often they have a minimum of ld's and bf's to reach each month. Coming too late or breaking another rule means they have to pay a fine and when they don't feel like working they sometimes barfine themselves => less salary So just for dancing, drinking and nothing more about 15000 bhat is not far from reality.

wow, 15.000 for dancing and drinking... now i understand why most ladies wanna work in a gogo and not behind the counter at a 7eleven.
do you think they get also some money from barfine? I think the barfine belong 100% to the owner of the bar, because the lady is not working for the rest of the night. and do they have to give money which they get for f***ing to the bar or to the mamasan or does this money belongs to the lady to 100%? very interesting to see also the background of this business

Money from the punter is usually all for the girl - no kickback to the bar -but every girl seems to owe money to someone for something, mostly having borrowed from other girls etc when times were quiet.

I know a few go-go ladies here in Chiang Mai.
In Star XIX they get 6000B per month, 30B per lady drink they have a quota of 60 LD a month (from my memory). They get half the 500B bar-find but no share of tips in the bar. Most get 1500B privately from punters for ST/LT, some earn more of course. If the have a day off it costs them a bar fine. They get fined for their shortfall in the LD quota. They get fined 100B every time their late for work. They get fined 100B every time they are late getting up on the stage... even if they are having a lady drink with a bloke at the time. They get fined 100B for forgetting to wear their number. They get fined 100B every time they forget their stage shoes, socks etc. Just the other night one told me at the end of each month her salary minus fines is ZERO. Some ladies earn more because they do solo acts, I'm just talking about the pole zombies. Oh yeah, their not allowed to consume alcohol at work at all.

I'm not answering for IJ, but there are a handful of smart ones that really capitalize on their attributes.
These are "ultra stunning" ladies who pick and choose their clientele and demand very high prices. Usually, they've a couple or more well to do "sponsors", who help out the cause. I've seen a young lady in Isaan, who not only has built her family a home....but has three others, for herself. (2 she rents out to farang/Thai families) She drives a BMW 700 series, back and forth from Pattaya. Yeah, there's a handful (maybe) of them out there. 5555

There is a girl i know in Patong now who is particularly striking. She is bar fined every day and has a sponsor who sends her 30,000 baht a month...
By my reckoning she must be pulling in 75,000+ a month at least...

ok guys, now we learned that the ladies are able to make a lot of money, if they want and if they are clever enough (and not too lavish)... seems also not very easy for the girls
next interesting point would be: "how much earns a Mamasan per month?" - she will have very high fix costs every month. - girls stay an her home, or in the home of the bar owner - she takes care that the ladies have a ride to work - she places the ladies to the new customers in the bar - ... and so on ... I know one mamasan at Pattaya. she works every day; only 1 day off per month. the drives a big Jeep. But the Mamasan is also employed the bar I think. she should get a salary from the owner of the bar for doing her job. meanings?!?

I make sure when I tip a waitress, I put, or get them to put the tip in their pocket.
If the tip stays on the tray, it's up to bar policy. Some places split evenly, some places only the bartenders split the tips... and I'm sure some places it disappears completely.

I realize this money is watched. That's my point. It's noticed that I'm giving the money to them by putting, or have them put the money in their pockets... meaning it's meant for them, and them only. I'll usually also leave 10 THB on the tray too. 1 or 2 of the places I frequent, the waitresses have a chuckle about it. Even when the tip's not large, it's appreciated.

Now, back to the OP's topic. The way I understand it ago-go dancers pay is based on how many barfines per month she's expected to get.
In Bangkok, 12,000 w/12 barfines would be typical, but on the upper end. A dancer would have 500THB deducted for each BF under her quota. Some have a drink quota as well. I don't think there's a penalty for not making the drink quota, but if you fall short, it doesn't look good. Of course, they get a certain amount for each LD (60THB on a 160THB drink would be common, but it depends on each location) At the non-gogo bars, I know girls that will easily cross the 200LD mark per month (soi Eric pop's to mind). In many go-go bars, the dancer will receive 50% of the barfine back, some on their pay at the end of the month. I've heard of 5 THB/minute penalty for arriving late. and the list goes on. Now some girls thrive in this environment, some don't like to go with customers and try to minimize the frequency. The story below is a true story of 2 go-go dancers I met years ago in one of the Rainbow bars in BKK. (Rainbow group, known for high barfines, etc) I met them at a pool hall on Soi 4 one night after this happened. As a group of us took off to Khao San to dance it up, the whole story unfolded. The girls had a 12,000THB salary, and a quota of 12 barfines per month (600 ea). They'd take a Japanese customer, quote 3K for ST, and go back to the bar once finished and pay the barfine for their friend for that night, and the BF for both of them for the following night. So after 1 girl took 1 customer, they'd both have 2 BFs and 2 nights off. 3000-1800=1200 remaining The next girl would ST, and the cycle would continue. After they each had gone with 1 customer, they both had 4 BFs each, and 4 nights off. By the time they'd each taken only 3 Short Time customers that month. They'd have reached their quota, securing their full salary, had a bit of spending cash left, and of course all the lady drink money was extra. 3 customers/month each and they'd EASILY clear 15K per month. Now most girls won't be that organized, but you see it's easy to do. I could expect some go-go girls, w/10K salary, getting BFed only 50% of the nights, 2 lady drinks each night, to clear 15K easily from the bar, and (at 1500/pop) another 22K from the customers. Remember, they often get cash tips too... even 200/day will add up to over 5K more/month. This is all only barfining once every 2 days. Not uncommon in the high season to see a decent looking girl (not talking HOT, just decent) to be BF'd most nights in the month.... where the above numbers would easily double. Also note, that I chose 2 LD's per night. Some can easily get 2 lady drinks/hour. It all adds up, I guarantee. Which brings me to a quote I heard LOooooong ago. There's A LOT of money in Patong.... but you'll never see any of it!

100k+ girls do exist and i would guess at most 'stunners' pulling in 50-70k/month if they 'work hard'. But many in that catagory are also in the pick and choose their clients camp and charge more but work less.
