When the clock ticks over midnight, unless you like the smell of the smoke from literally millions of fireworks going off, and that bloody red paper getting all over you, make sure your in an inside bar at the time.

Your not understating that steve. I was actually up at laemsingh beach for new years eve at 12:00, by the time i got back to bangla road it was somewhere between 2-3am and they were still letting them off. Madness!
MikeGB has some good photos of the NYE fireworks posted somewhere.

Hi Ozskin,

Here is the photo. I have lots more, pretty much the same, but when I first posted a couple of these photos, a really bizarre thing happened - another board member had actually taken a photo at the same time as me in Bangla Road on new years eve. I was in their photograph, taking a photo which I later posted here. We both took the same snapshot at the same time. Spooky ......

I'm afraid that it is going to be awfully crowded at Xmas. I am thinking now about holding off until January to go to Patong!

Come on Jaybee,

You can not be serious (as my old chum Mr McEnroe would say)

If the bars are full, we will drink in the streets, if the streets are full we will drink on the beaches, but it would be a shame to miss out on something when you dont know for sure how it will be.

If everyone holds off, then it will be empty.

Hope to see you at Chrimbo
