1) Yes and not really
2) No and some but not so many
3) Yes Banlga and Seapearl. No beach Rd
4) IMHO no only due to tourist numbers..

As long as the girls return I am in hog heaven.. Not busy just the way expats like me (who dont own bars) like it (personally 'peak' high season gets on my nerves a bit).. However currently the BG numbers seem down and the vibe is a bit low (as you would expect) by feb I would hope that to be changing for the better.

yes BG no's down, the quality in general is very high, can now see the wood in the trees.

Boilers and old BG's have went home knowing they have no chance, they were plentiful before 26th Dec

The new pool place on Bangla has somee stunners, I may have never noticed before due to excess camoflague if you get my drift

I have read other BM's posts about price rises but am not sure... I only got back from Samui a few days agao and have had my main girl with me the times I have been down Bangla but talking on the phone to some gogo girls I know they say they are quiet and low on funds.. I got the impression they were looking for custom.

Anyway.. Everyone was talking about coming to Thailand to help the local economy and Thais.. Or was it that getting more for your money was the goal ??? (sorry that reads harsher than it is meant.. Cant seem to rewrite it easier)..

i think for quite a few the sad case is that you have hit the nail on the head, alas for those of us that were there i think (well my own thoughts anyway)are that the Thai`s could not do enough to help me ,to the point were i was embarressed because i knew i was ok and that the were and still are people in a lot greater need than i.both Thai and westener but still they insisted on taking care of me.so myself i feel that by traveling back home and not staying behind to help Them as much as i could ,that i have let them down.
so as i speak i am planning to go back asap ,to visit friends old and new,pay my respects in a way that really only makes sense to me.
I dont have much money left after the last trip and my normal bills but thats what a credit card is for.
value for money? Thailand will always be value for me more than any dollar,Baht or pound will ever be.
just my two cents worth

"If they build it will you come"
All I can say in the matter, too much thinking is really bad. I already postponed my trip once, I will not do it again. So come Feb 16 till March 5th Pattaya, Samui and Phuket are my adult playground. For those of you worrying about a sense of normalcy coming back to Phuket, that will not happen overnight, but it will happen.

I had a great time during my first trip last September, there's no reason not to have a carbon copy of the 1st.

I am also returning on 4 Feb despite only getting back to Blighty on 6 January.Trip was already planned for my mate`s 40th who has never been to LOS.We are having a meeting on Saturday to determine if the other guys, there are 4 of us going, still want to go to Patong. They have read up and not been sidetracked by some of the generalisations made by the media about disease however the lack of ladies may be the deciding factor. Personally I hope to meet up with my lady who has gone back to Khon Kaen(apologies if spelling not correct) for two weeks while her bar at Seapearl is sorted out. If she decides not to come back by 4 Feb I may decide to shorten or even cancel trip to Patong altogether and go to BKK instead. I would feel really guilty if I did not return to Patong and help out financially but if we did go and my friends did not enjoy it I would feel bad for spoiling their " trip of a lifetime". I know they will never understand not having been there when the tsunami hit but they have their concerns and I have to respect them. Anyway hopefully the right decision will be made and even if we don`t come for the full 8 days as planned we could at least visit for a few days which would be better than nothing.
