Hey guys settle an argument for me? Just back from a recent tour of duty and one of the soldiers picked up a 'freelancer' in a club in & took her back to his room for some boom boom. Next morning after having his wicked way the soldier in question sends her packing without reimbursing her for her services! He claims it was a genuine 1 night stand & she never mentioned $ at any stage!! My argument is that often these girls feel embarassed to be so abrupt & ask for cash, they expect the guy to know the rules of the game and do the honourable thing and offer them the going rate for ST or LT. On numerous occasions I have been with girls & when its time for them to leave there has never been any question of money but out of respect I always give them the going rate!

In my eyes the soldier in question is disrespecting the game, opinions please??

I dunno some people just arent aware of this sort of thing, the first time i wasnt aware of the whole bg scene at all, so if i walked into a bar and ended up scoring an asian girl then took her home and had my way I would not have offered money. I genuinely didnt know then.

I think this "soldier" is a complete jerk. He's well aware of the situation, and simply taking advantage of the girl. The really despicable thing is that the money we pay them means so little to us, and means so much more to them.

My friend done the same thing, Well not exactly but sort of, He was with this girl a few nights(paid her) and we brought them to phi phi with us, Anyway as we paid for the trip he assumed that he did not have to give her money(genuinely). Anyway she was on good terms with the BG I was with and she told her but said nothing to him, And she then in turn told me, So me thinking I was doing a good thing told my friend and he went to her bar that night and pretended that he forgot and gave her the money, But he didnt take her that night and went and got a different girl for the night.

Anyway the girl I was with was a bit stroppy that night, So I asked her what was wrong, She then blamed me on her losing face because I told my friend what she had said to me, And thought that was the reason why he didnt take her friend, So I got the blame for doing a good thing, You just cant win

PS: I think your friend knows quiet well he should have paid her, I think he was trying to boost his ego

The exception would be a true "freebie" who would be a girl from another country or a regular girl out partying looking to get laid.

But I would say in Thailand even a 'regular girl' looking to get laid.. If she is taking a farng and coming on strong one of the deciding reasons why she is coming on (maybe not the only or even main reason) is that she assumes she will get something for it as well as the sex..

If (big if) you wernt aware of the bar scene possibly you could
think just in for the sex.(no payment)
In some contries mine included if i picked up a one night stand and offered to pay them next morning would be in big trouble.

If he met her in a disco in Patong or a beer bar she would expect a little brown drink voucher descreetly put in her purse in the morning (I put it there when they are in the bathroom). And he really needs to ask himself is 1,000. baht too much for him (If it is he should not be in Thailand) If in Patong and your in doubt about whether the girl is on the pull or not do what I just described and there should not be a problem.

on my first trip on my own, I wasn't aware of the bg scene and wasn't willing to pay for any sex. I met a friend that was travelling around asia in bangkok. We ended up really drunk in grace hotel disco and there I find myself dragged by this hot thai chick to her table. As I was sure she would like some money from me, I asked her about 20 times if she was working and willing money and she kept saying no. We got a nice **** and I stayed with for 3 or 4 days and she never asked money, tried to hide the truth about her life but when she brought me to the beer garden to see her friends, she had to admit being a bg.
I guess she thought I was hot and was willing to have a good time with me.
I kept email contact with her for a while. On my next trip I met her by chance and she asked up front to come back to my room. I guess some girls like to have something else than customer.
On my first trip I also asked a sexy ladyboy chatting with her friends late night on sukuhmvit to blow me for free, and she accepted with pleasure.

Yes disrespecting the game. Unless he has been a soldier about a week. Soldiers especially those visiting SE Asia should have a pretty good understanding of how things work.

I think Darma needs to present more info on our 'soldiers' story, I will present more info for him, as I feel he his getting a raw deal:

It seems that the girl was out with her boyfriend, had a massive bust up with him, was not actively searching for someone to pay her for the night, packed her bags from the hotel that she was staying in with her boyfriend and stayed at the 'soldiers' hotel for the night until she could get a flight the next day, she was not in need of money just wanted somewhere to stay and got on well with the 'soldier'.
Doesn't sound like the usual farang meets thai girl situation to me.

What is everyones opinion now all the facts are known?

last month I fell out with my teerak big time , but since I arrived she has been phoning me constantly in the afternoon , when i split with her she went back to work the bar and has a customer at the moment for 2 weeks , but now we are meeting up in the afternoon and going for a few hours to my bungalow (at her instigation) , i do not pay her anything , as she is already being paid by her customer (who she claims - only wants chakwaa - yeah right -LOL).

Disrespecting the game is one thing.. I just think now especially it's not the time to be taking advantage of the girls with them having less customer after the tsunami... I personally paid more than I should on my last visit... just trying to cheer them up... so that maybe more of them would come back to Patong..

If you stay here for a long time, there is plenty of free boom boom to be had. Its always usually instigated by the girl. You tend to find you get to know them first and it develops from there, pretty much a normal boy girl scenario. They are not working when it's this situation very different in their mind set, i.e. you are not a customer.

As far as giving them more money due to the tsunami , you would be better donating money to those in real need , not bg,s who even in low season make more dosh than a doctor. i don,t think the tsunami reached as far as issan

Maybe u're right Tomyam... about donating to those in real need ... personally.. I donated less than 10k bath to the people at Acheh but spend more than 20k bath at Patong..... i guess I have a weird way of helping the tsunami victims
