Question Any bargirls left in Patong?

Hi guys!
How is the situation now in Patong?
Any nightlife going on or is it deadstill at night!?
Read somewhere that beachroad is all but empty at night-time, how about soi Bangla?
I'm currently in Pattaya, and I have met a few girls here that used to work in Rockhard and Playschool before the Tzunami, that now are plying their trade here in Pattaya. One told me that Rockhard only has about 5-6 customers a night, compared to litterally hundreds before in the high season!? I'm planning to go to Patong in a month, but I'm now thinking of cutting down my time there, and stay some longer here in Pattaya. More girls and cheaper too anyway, but I do like the beach better in Patong! How about hotel prices any discounts now or...?

I’m sure you can still find plenty of quality bargirls in Patong, maybe not as many as before but I doubt that you would have any difficulties finding a girl. And as far as I know the hotel occupancy rate right now is only about 20% and I understand that some hotels, especially major resorts are offering rates close to low-season rates at the moment, at least until March.

Well it depends on which website you get your info from it seems
The one I looked at http://www.hangoverguide.com/out/th/sonkran/
says 13th /17th yet I see two other sites saying 13th/16th and 13th/15th I think you are right and its just 3days 13th /15th

I think its supposed to be 13th-15th, but because 16th + 17th is a weekend, its naturally extended, just like an english Christmas

Different areas celebrate for different times..

Phuket tends to only do 3 days but Pattaya kind of does more (less hectic though) and I hear that Chang Mai and Chang Rai do the full 5 or so..

I phoned two people who worked or work the Rock Hard ( one is there working now) and they told only 10-15 ladies dancing as "no customers". So I plan to help them by coming 23 February.
By the way, where did you find Rock Hard ladies in Pattaya? I am going there for a few days before Phuket. I want to see the golfcourses (last time I was there was June 1992). I know nothing of the nightlife over there and am searching where to go in the Pattaya Pages (more than 50 or 60 gogobars alone over there) . So any advice is welcome.

Well I only saw it once, and I am not particuly found of it! Difficult to get to the beach with the motorcycle, to go to one place to another on whole the island!

If you are not into this kind of fun, it are for me 3 evenings ruined, because I do not want to get wet all the time!
An hour is fine, not 3 days!

More about Songkran

Would appreciate it if some of the more experienced BM's could sort of explain what happens in Patong over the Songkran period! Am myself booked to come over from the 8th-17th however unsure as to what to expect - how would it differ to New Years Eve for example! Am aware of the water fights but is it this on one particular day, do they pedestrianise Bangla like on NYE! A description of how it went last year would be much appreciated, also in light of recent events will it be more subdued this year?? Does Patong usually get busy for this event if so would be as busy as a regular Christmas/New Year period??

I have not been yet, Ill get my first experience of it in april also, But from what I have read about it, The water fight goes on for 3days And from some of the picture's I have seen its not only water you get hit with, I seen someone in one of the pics covered from head to toe in flour or something So I dont think it would be a good idea to wear your best gear out on them days Hopefully some of the experience BMs can shed a bit more light on it for you, And maybe ill see you in april at MTB for a few cold ones

Yes Bangla is closed to traffic, Soi Eric closes for one or two days, every other bar gets covered in plastic sheeting (speakers, tv, hifi, etc). Market stalls sell mulit-coloured pump up water pistols ( no pistols does not describe these are more like cannons).
Water and talcom powder are used to decorate passers by - water only for the policemen!
People drive around in pick up trucks with 45 gallon drums of water on the back to keep the people on the truck readily supplied.
A lot of expats go into hiding, as it has changed from a religious festival involving the sprinkling of water to full fledged farang water fight.
Its normally really hot at that time of year so its no big deal getting soaked - just dress to get wet.
Also it combines with phuket bike week so lots of bikers in town from all over se asia, big carnival atmosphere, stage at the end of bangla, etc.

One of the galleries on soieasy.com is devoted to Song Gran...

3 day waterfight with menthol powder smears also..

First few years its fun but after a while the novelty does wear off.. Also a good % of people get sick from getting wet for days on end / AC / Dirty water in drinks / etc.. Last year I ended up with typhoid after Song Gran.

Sometimes known as cooling powder its applied to stop sweating and cool the skin.. Kinda 'burns' cold at first (dont let a mischevious girlfriend apply it to your nuts.. Trust me on this) and after the kinda burning phase is passed it does leave a refreshing chilled feeling to the skin.. Bit of an aquired taste I reckon..

You must have seen old ladies or toddlers all with white powdr on thier faces and skin ?? Especially after showering ??
