Does anyone know about how much the green fees are at the local golf courses? Anyone recommend any specific courses there? Thanks..

Golf Courses

Here's some info.

Phuket Country Club 2,400.
Loch Palm about the same.
Both close to Patong
Banyan Tree 3,500. ?
Blue Canyon about the same.
Mission Hills alot more.

Some tour agencies will sell you a better deal than going to the course directly.
Or you can join the expat golf assn. and get a discount on all course for a ABOUT 3,000.

There is a greenfee difference between Blue Canyon canyon and lake courses.
I think canyon course is above 4000 (if you can get on it). As members guest I pay 1600 (accompanied by member, otherwise around 2200). Phuket greenfees are very high compared to other parts of Thailand.
By the way, don't forget 200-230 caddy fee plus 250 or more for caddy tip.

I am going to join Phuket Expat Golf Society, 4100 baht and I will get discount on most courses. This only available for expats who live here. I also think you can sign up for a membercard at the driving range at Laguna, 1000 baht/year or something which also give you some discounts. This is available for everybody.

I played golf with an American guy today, he played at Mission Hills yesterday and on Wednesday, Greenfee is 3800 baht + caddy & rental fee's.

I have been playing at Phuket Country Club, the 9 hole course a lot lately and I pay 850 baht for green fee and caddy. (I use my own equipment) I really like that course and it is close to Patong. Another reason I like 9 holes is that I dont need to wake up early in the mornings, I can play in the afternoons.

I have some basic info about the courses at www.phuket-info.com/golf.htm

thanks for the info

Hey guys, thanks for the info...it will come in handy. One more question, I heard that if you play the same course a second and third time that the price goes down. Is this true?

Never heard that you pay less when you pay the same course 2nd or 3rd time.
Country 9 holes is not bad, but remember: better if you are hcp 24 or less. Luckily you can by second hand golfballs everywhere. Other solutions arefloating ballls or attach them with an elastic. I know people who lost 20 balls and more over 18 holes. The faiways and greens are very small compared to the watersurface.

Loch Palm is pretty good and you can also hire a buggie. Take a couple of spare shirts onto the course with you IT'S BLOODY HOT!!

Loch Palm is where I play most of the time. Good course, not monotonous but the greens are very bad.
