DoxyCycline / STD clinic in Phuket?
Hi there,
Been reading this forum with great interest, but cannot anyone advise of a place in phuket where one can get hold of doxycycline or is there a clinic where one can go and get some antibiotics ?
Cheers,

You will have no problems getting some anti-biotics in any of the pharmacys, i required some in the last few days of my trip for reasons that we shall not go into. very unlike the UK where you would need a prescription.

worzel if you private me and tell me what you need it for I can tell you how much to take and how long....but I am sure you can get the same advice if you go into any pharmacy.
If you are treating gonnorhea I would recommend ciprofloxacin 500mg, cefixime 400mg, or ofloxacin 400mg as single doses orally.
If you do treat for gonnorhea you should also treat for chlamydia at the same time and rather than doxycycline which you need to take 100mg orally twice a day for 7 days, azithromycin 1,000mg orally one time is the treatment of choice and saves you the hassle of having to take the course including not being able to drink as it can weaken the effectiveness and perhaps ruin your holiday by abstaining from the bars so long.

Just go see a Doc and let him have a look..
My favorite Doc for any of cupids measels is Dr Pornsack (yes thats his real name) always better to have a real Doc diagnose and have the shots or pills as per the infection than self diagnose and not be 100% right..

Agree with LIL, although you can get just about anything over the counter here, a trip to the doctor is relatively cheap compared to where any of us come from. Like this morning I spent the morning at Phuket International Hospital for a checkup, and it only cost me 400B.
Do yourself a favour and see a doctor at the hospital and not one of the so called clinics.

Wattana Clinic
I really liked the Wattana Clinic - near what was Macdonalds. Dr Wattana was extremely kind and helpful when my friend had a diabetes problem. Also you can meet lots of BG's there....

Can only agree. Two years ago a friend had a serious diving accident and was treated by Dr.Wattana. Very skilled, kind and helpfull. Last year I had a dogbite, went there-same same. But I do not know wether they are open again cause they were located not far from the beach.

If you have a gonnorhea just go to the doc. He will give you one injection and you will not have to go again.

Thanks for all your advice. It's weird, but it sounds as though the STD system out there is much smoother and quicker than back from where I come from ! In the UK for example, it takes ages just to get an appt sometimes.
Mind you, they're probably switched on out there for very valid reasons....

Is that the Doctor Wattana who speaks fluent German?
I took her for a dive refresher course about 15 years ago

Also probably because its private sector.. If they dont provide top service for the money someone else will..
