Does anyone know the deal with those Rio chicks...it seems some of them are up for some playtime, and there are some really nice birds in there,but the game seems to be a little different to just the normal beer bar birds.I'm talking about downstairs, not upstairs at Rock Hard. Had some good fun there last time, but a little expensive. Good place for a beer and a game of pool...maybe a light bite to eat...anyone else like it???? How long has that been open for anyway, not that long I would think??? Cheers boys.

The Rio girls are not working like BG's but I would guess that maybe 50% will FL 'if' they like you and theres some connection... These girls are the kind that may have a sponsor or dont wish to see themselves as bad girls... I think any outright offering of money etc would be a sure way to blow a chance with them..

Just hang out, play some pool, talk and chat.. Then as the place closes try and get them on to Tai Pan etc.. Once out of the Rio area you will see if they are being polite friendly or freindly freindly..

Yeah I agree with ya mate,good time to be had there if ya play your cards right I think. A couple of really fun birds in there...just to hang out with you know. Last time went with a couple of mates hooked up with some of the girls in there,( as in just going to beach and stuff, no hanky panky) and had a ball with them...got a few snide remarks from them about being seen with other BG in Patong...all in good fun!!!

So woud you say it would be a good place for couples? Will be in phuket in a few days and would like to find a nice place to hang out with the woman who might be a little shy towards the girl action? thanks

Yeah Rio will be fine.. Lots of the Bangla fronted bars (Kangaroo etc) are low girl hassle..

Never thought about the Rio girls...and I am there every evening. I start at the bar outside around 7 and stay there till about 9. A good place to see everybody passing, you could call it "Phuket wildlife bird spotting".
After dinner i go upstairs of Rio to Rock Hard and later again back down. Around 2 in the morning nice to see everybody going from Soi Bangla to Tai Pan and neighbours. Also a good place to watch the manoeuvres between Bangla Beauties and potential clients.
I know one of the waitresses was interested in some after work activities, but she doesn't work there anymore.
I have to check with the managers how this work, but my drinking companions from upstairs won't be happy.

I did not think about that. Besides, those are only minor costs. I like the company of nice ladies to have dinner and drink, and sometimes a bit more. I have to check with Larry, Ira or Jeff.

Your right there. Had drinks with some at Safari. Some are very cute that work there, some have Thai boyfriends or sponsors.

Its at the end of Bangla on the corner of Rat u Thid Rd same side as Tiger
Its a cafe/bar/restaurant and looks a pretty good place for a meal.
The free internet is a good move from them as well

Its downstairs from Rock Hard A-Go-Go. Think this you know (at the end of bangla, opposite TaiPan).

Ate their in Sept 04.....very average....good location for people watching though.

I was there a couple of weeks ago. Good food exept they made it "non-farang" by accident. It was like eating chili pepers dipped in gasoline and shards of glass. Still quite good.

The girls where great. One of them seemed "extra" nice. Did not act on it though. I can recomend the place.

The food is very expensive by Patong standards!!! e.g. double decker cheeseburger (without fries) 175 baht

as for drinks 90 baht for heiniken (normal bar price 70/80), 130 baht for Black soda (normal bar price 120) vodka & mixer 110 baht (normal bar price 100)

The food is of a good standard but is overpriced, drink is more expensive but worth paying the extra because its a really nice place

Emm.....

When i first opened the thread, i was wondering were this 'Rio' was! Then when i saw the website i suddenly had a flashback to a tequila-logged night in December when i can just remember parts of the interior!

So i've must of been there at least once!

Any other evidence of me and my where abouts that night, would be most helpfull! In fact, any night, after midnight could be helpful in los!
