Hi TC!
Playschool is still open, just changed owner!
I was there in april and most girls were the same as last year, plus some newbies! Still a great place and funny girls (specially Tukta)!

Are not Patong A-go-go's becoming passe' ?

How are all the A-Go-Go's surviving in Soi Sea Dragon?

Hasn't Pink Panther changed its venue to a night club with a band? Have Sphinx and Lipstick also been closed (or changed venues)?

How about Showgirls A-Go-Go and Model A-Go-Go?

Are not the A-Go-Go bars becoming passe in Phuket? Didn't Soi Sunset used to have a couple of A-Go-Go bars (such as Extasy), which have long since been closed?

During my recent visit, I felt the remaining Patong Beach A-Go-Go's (that were left) are now very low key, and are becoming more and more replaced by the Beer Bars and the Discos ?

Pink Panther hasnt been an agogo for ages, was the Fay Boy Harley bar previously and now reopened by the old agogo owner as Pink Panther Rock 'n' Roll bar.

Model, hasnt been Model agogo for several years, is now known as Suzy Wongs. Is currently up for sale.

Showgirls has just recenty been sold and under new management as of this month.

Sphinx hasnt existed for years either, is now Octopus pool bar.

Lipstick has been known as Lucky for ages and still running. Is currently up for sale.

Bang Bang agogo has been closed for a least 2 years now, and remains dark. Is currently up for sale.

Crazy Girls agogo is now open again after being closed for sometime. Is currently up for sale.

Flash agogo is still operating in Soi Eric.

Due to the contruction works in Soi Sunset, the agogo, cant recall the name, is closed I believe.

Patong A-Go-Go's

Thanks stevem for the update.

As you can tell by the lack of currency of my knowledge, its been a while since I spent anytime in the A-Go-Go bars in Patong. I did wander down Soi Crocodile, and noted Pink Panther was no longer an A-Go-Go. I also noted Play School open, and Showgirls open. I did not notice Suzy Wongs, but I wasn't looking all that hard.

Is Lucky (ex-Lipstick) an A-Go-Go?

I confess, I do not recall ever seeing an A-Go-Go's named "Crazy Girls". Where is it located?

"Bang Bang" is also unfamilar to me, but that familiarity is rather irrelevant, especially given that you note its been closed for 2 years.

Reference A-Go-Go's on Soi Sunset, hasn't Soi Sunset always been under constant construction and modification?

It does appear the A-Go-Go scene in Phuket is less than it once was.

I think you mean you wandered down Soi SeaDragon!!

Suzy Wongs right hand side very back, where Model used to be. Very hard to miss as very brightly lite.

Yes Lucky (I think thats whats they call it this month), is and agogo, exactly the same setup as before, except a pool table inside in front of the bar.

Bang Bang right hand side near the back, cant remember what was there before, but has been closed and locked up for sometime.

Soi SunSet even more so lately. All the bars on the left hand side have gone to make room for a new hotel.

If you look at Steves post you notice one thing...

Up for sale.. Up for Sale.. Up for sale.. Under new management.. Up for sale.. Rebranded to Pool / music / etc..

I cant help but think that Phukets gogo's which are more highly controlled than BKK / Pats etc, have a really hard time making ends meet, one of those factors has to be the ground costs. I know what Fat boy costs them (lost them), I heard what Harold has taken on.. You need some serious customers to make that work. Without a little more nudity its hard to get the top girls out of the high traffic areas and indoors waiting for punters..

The thing is if I go into a gogo I usually won't spend to much time hanging out and drinking I just go to check out the girls have a couple of beers and leave but when I go to a bar I could spend hours on a session I just like the atmosphere better.

Depends on how crazy the pace is.. I mean theres not many beer bars where you will get girls blowing you at the bar (if there is in Patong draw me a map).. Now The naughty boy corner or getting the private curtain accross in SW's can get pretty wild..

Problem is when the gogo's cant show.. It gets tamer.. in turn they start to loose out to the beer bars and its a viscious cycle, this is evidence by the list above of sales and new management.

Doesn't this come down to keeping the boys in brown happy or is it totally illegal now in Patong.

I know they pretend they are trying to clean up Patong but this is bullsh*t as more beer bars and sois seem to be getting built all the time the gogo is an institution in LOS you'd think they would loosen up a bit I think the tourists enjoy it as well especially first timers even if they are not there for the girls.

Since the fun police came in 2 elections back the move to sanitize Thailand has been slowly underway... Hence the closure issues and covering of nudity to preserve 'Thai society' from the evils of farang corruption..

They arrested and closed down a fashion show a while back because there was a hint of nipple through a chiffon top.. And this was when they were trying for BKK to be the 'fashion hub of asia'...

Cool

Its a real shame but over the last 2-3 years the go-go's have went downhill. The last time I was in Show *irls there was the usual banana, razor blade, blowpipe show but the girls were about Granmother age!!. About as sexy as waking up after pissing the bed. Nowhere do you get the G on G lickety lickety shows so common in Pattaya. Still its nice to go in for a couple of beers and cool down in the aircon. Maybe if the boys in brown were offered an inducement or two it might help get it all back on track.

Peter is still around, saw him outside Showgirls the other night, but he still has nothing to do with the running of it.

Topshow a gogo was gone long time a go, they removed all buildings in that area.

I remember a bar meeting maybe 4 years ago, the girl who owned topshow asked the police why the police asked money from her.

I can admit I ended up at Topshow sometimes at that time.

My favourite 3 years ago was Monkey TJ Bar, they had some very cute and young girls. I never went with them but enjoyed watching and talk. Also Playschool was very nice hangout at that time.

Save the Gogos!

Damn, sorry to hear that. I love gogos. I really do.

Went to Playschool last year. It was the best gogo that I found in Phuket. I just love the atmosphere. It's more private than most places, and that suits me just fine.

Nui, a girl over there is very good . She's cool.

When I went there, the girls were not doing anything. We were the first customers. So they treated us like kings! I mean, yeah they do that in LoS, but in Playschool, it was more of an extra since there were no customers. And the girls look great! Oh, man.

Also like Rock Hard, but they're never short of customers, or so it seems.

Is it true that the go go girls get medical check-ups regularly? The three that I 'talked' to said that they have pap smears every two weeks and blood tests every three months.

I have influenced some of my friends to go down to Phuket after my trip in January, to get them to 'save the gogos' or something.

They ended up bungee jumping! Damnit, they should have gone to the gogos or beer bars.

What to do? We're mostly under 30 and don't have our retirement fund to splash around. Haha. Can't wait till I'm older.

Anyway, I'm going up to Thailand this weekend. See ya.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Playschool last year, we have sold it earlier this year, so it is under new management now. You are right in what you say about the girls medicals, but how valid are they?? As TIT, any system is open to abuse.

hi steve!

Hullo, Steve.

I just love the concept of schoolgirl uniforms. Especially Japanese kokosei uniforms. Did you start it, or bought it from someone else?

Yeah, I agree that the system could have loopholes. There is a risk in everything we do anyway. It was just more reassuring at the time.

One other thing that I like about Playschool is that they play music I could relate to. No offense to the rest of the establishments, but sitting there for hours was more pleasant with songs that don't make you dizzy.

The only places that could rival that is a seat outside Rio, watching passers-by and the less loud beer bars, IMHO.

p/s: ermm..aside from the obvious connotation, what is TIT?

TIT = "this is Thailand", normally refers to different culture, ways of working, bureaucracy, etc.
