Phuket Town Nightlife
For those of you who would prefer a different nightlife atmosphere than patong beach I would recommend visiting some nightclubs in Phuket Town. Clubs in the city close at 1330 but the setting which is similar to the Galaxy in Patong is more upscale, intimate, and relax, more suitable music for the matured bunch with very friendly service.
One I recommend is the Zanni Club inside the Royal Phuket City Hotel. A live band playing mostly late 70's to 80's pop music. You may also find other clubs around the Nimit Circle at the southeastern side of the city near Phuket Grocery. The one I went to is next to two larger clubs, one of them is called Rad at the corner of the street. I don't know the name because it's in Thai. It's a small club which also serves thai food with table seating at the front near the stage and bar in the back. A bit expensive though, I think I paid 550 baht for 2 cocktails and a small seafood dish. The club plays very good thai pop music.
All in all I think if you're tired of the scene in Patong then you should take your girl to Phuket Town. I'm sure she'll appreciate the change.

Yes, true, Phuket town gives a very welcome change!
First time there I ever kissed a TG. Not that she brought me any luck, but it did turn me on at the moment!
It was btw the 31 st December, so believe me much fun!

Its been a couple of years since I visited the club inside the Royal Phuket City Hotel. I agree its very nice as I also like the place. But for me its more a place one takes a lady they have already met, as opposed to a place where one goes to try and find and meet someone new.

Hi AM,
How is the availability of TGs, FLs, at those places? Are they strictly places to take a date? What about if you are going single?

these are not pickup joints and most customers are couples or with friends. absoulately no bg or fl. the Zanni Club has some farangs but others clubs i didn't see a single one.
if you want to do a pickup go to the Pink Lady or Fatasia or other "karaoka bars" around town. i've never been inside but i saw many girls sitting outside and they are of high quality. probably doesn't speak much english though.

There are a few expats who frequent Kor Tor Mor (next door to Rad), as well as Timber Hut, Zanzibar (at the Royal Phuket City) and Jammin in Phuket Town.
Definitely no BGs but there are girls looking to earn some extra cash, i.e. freelancers. (Less so at KTM than the others as the scene is very Thai). Not BGs freelancing but regular Thai girls, uni students and office girls etc. Not a very big scene though.
However, at any of these venues, if you are presentable and charming, (also helps if you have a fat wallet), there are some pretty young things to be had. You need to have a good knowledge of Thai social norms though, and you have to be willing to put in the effort.
Only recommended if you really want to try something different.

Or go to "Pe Thai" in Saphan Hin (just behind the soccer stadium). Really low class but extremely funny. You will be surrounded by 5 girls within a minute and they all want to "smoke you". "I smoke joe". Last week spent there 2 hours with my friend, we ordered 7 big bottles of Heineken and there the bill arrived: 4.800 baht. "You buy flower" "You buy me drink". Of course we did not, we dropped 800 Baht on the table and went out with a smile. So if you are new there, only say "yes" to a question if you fully understand it. Or else they gonna buy a 1000 Baht flower for the girl on stage.
Have a nice time!

I think you need to be aware of your surroundings around Saphan Hin...

Definitely, especially at night. Shame really. Saphan Hin used to be a nice place to go for a stroll in the evening.

Yes, read about it many times. Thai killing Thai. But I've been there many times, never felt unsafe in any way.
