Agree like the look of the pool there...I remember reading you pay about 75k per month is that right LivinLos? Any chance of a pic of the place/pool? How many beds it? Do you pay a slight premium for being close to Patong or is it about going rate for that size/style?

Yeah thats the gist of it.. Then add in for gardeners maid etc.. My elecy and water bills come in higher than my old houses rent)..

Finding villas with a private pool in Patong is simply damn near impossible to rent.. The people that own mega money places dont usually need or wish to rent them so none on the market.. Also while cheap accomodation and houses are available in lots of places getting a big pad with a pool that no one overlooks for pool fun costs money..

This is exessive for my needs at 5 bedrooms and 500 sqm of space.. 3 levels of gardens going down the slope that I never go down etc... but its got a big open plan living space so theres room for the Home Theater and Projector setup, space for my office, an ok wet bar through from kitchen to poolside, etc and after looking for a pool for so long I wasnt going to pass it up..

I know of 2 bed apartments with private pools asking 60 - 70, was offered a boggo 3 bed house with a dinky pool in the garden for 65k just before taking this.. Villas usually cost a lot more and Patong especially.. Lets say a Villa is 25 - 30 mil normal rental returns are often approx 5% return on investment to be bothered renting it.. Well thats 1.25 - 1.5 mil per annum...

Of course but I tend to play choons pumped up all night until the next dawn... I keep odd hours and have odd mates.. Anyway I get all my cleaning done now (between GF and maid)..

Horizon beach place does lovely 2 bed service apartments with pool access for about 30 - 40 but you and your mates cant barfine half (or all heyt ratpack ??) an agogo and get everyone high as kites all night nekkid in the pool without raising a few eyebrows (though I have done it in the Palm view once)..

You think this place is nice you should check out Nakatami where SLeasy was.. Of course he got kicked out for lesbians in the pool and angry ex girlfriends so privacy does count for something..

Right now im in recon mode...trying to get good feel for what you can get for the money...Go in for a hip replacement op in 13 days which is one of my pre-requisites before going over to Thailand for closer inspection
Second one being waiting for my folks old dog to die as dont have anyone to look after him I swear he keeps on going just to piss me off now.

Nice pad LIL the one behind looks pretty good as well 25- 30mil for the hell pad in Patong that's not bad considering what you'd get in the west for the same amount.

Privacy would definately become an issue if I lived there full time.

Izeickl, location location location.. Phuket is not like the rest of Thailand and Patong is not like the rest of Phuket (though Bang Tao / Surin etc has some dosh up there too !!!) so much range in value you need to experiment with finding your comfort zone..

river place behind is on the market for 28.. Not been inside it but I am guessing it is higher luxury (better view) but a fair bit smaller in size.. Can be rented at 100k per month after late this year (so I hear)..

Considering apartments back in Europe are going at such high levels and modest homes are commanding prices about that level it seems crazy to me why anyone would retire back there.. Sell the property assets and live in the sun !!!

Guys I can tell u LivinLos's pad is totally ace, there's nothing better than sitting at the swim up bar being fed bacon butties by a skimpy topless little maid, slurping vodka nam soms. Then frolicking in the pool till the wee small hours. Then sitting back watching a movie get a chuckwao and at the same time have livinlos touch up your rented bird for the night

mmmmmmmm just another day out with livinlos, cant think why I liked his pad so much, might have been the architecture

Seriously if any of u have the fortune to become mates with livinlos then its a one way trip to hell. He has certainly ruined my innocence 5555555555

Oddly enough since moving in I have been with the same regular... I cant get the little welder out... Shes up for a laugh though and fairly game on when nights get wild..

Of course there have been a couple of parties she has been banished from.. She gets the hump at that but no one said life was fair..

I can vouch for LILs house, i was totally blown away when we arrived there the other night, absolutly amazing place, i think the pool at the same level as the kitchen makes it so much better aswell, but if what you said about half the house being down the hill in a few years time i guess it will not be so great then.
I do not need a pool at home as i found myself swimming in safari with LBs the other night after jumping from the top bit, not the smartest move as i did not even know how deep it was, luckily it was deep enough.
where you heading this weekend, my last this trip so maybe catch you somewhere.

Cant say swimming in Safari's muddy pond ever appealed to me.. Now if they cleared that out and made a pool nightclub place.. did foam parties etc.. that would stone cold rock the party..
