The Areca is full for late October, does anyone know a tel no for the Inn House Hotel on Soi 13. It doesn't have it's own website, (only Agents) and I fly later today. Last minute break.

Thanks

Unhappy areca blues

I've been giving Areca big props on this board for a while and now it seems like they book up very quickly. Just tried to book in mid- january and they are full. Now i've got to read all of these other threads and figure out where i'm going to stay. I'm going to miss my daily lunch hanging out at the pool.

I should be staying there dec 1st-dec 9th. I e-mailed them with my reservation request nearly a week ago. They replied saying it was confirmed then asking for my cc details so they could re-confirm me. I sent them the next day and have'nt heard from them since. I have e-mailed them twice about it but have had no reply. Should i be getting worried?
This will be my 2nd time staying there and had no delay in them replying before......

Which online booking service did you guys use for Areca?

I used Areca Lodge - Pattaya hotels Thailand on phuket-info.com and was able to book the Areca for late November with no problem.

This one is showing vacancies for Areca in January: thaihotels.com - Best Discount Room Rates for Areca Lodge, Pattaya (I have used that online booking company before for a stay in Phuket)

And there's this online firm too which I used once for Bangkok: Areca Lodge Pattaya

I'll drink to that mate. I can't wait to see it for myself.

Going by the pics, it is probably the best hotel I will be staying at while in LOS! Yet the least expensive!!

Just got back

I just got back last night after 10 days, 4 of which were at Resident Garden. I have to say i didn't think it was anything to write home about. I checked beforehand to make sure that there would be a TV after an seeing an earlier post in this thread. They said that it was probably just a rumour started by their competition as all of there rooms have TVs.

I also checked beforehand to make sure that i wouldn't be charged if i brought more than one chick back. They said that there was no charge but then when i came back with two girls one night, they collared me for 400 Baht joiner fee for the second one. I didn't have the email to hand to argue against it either. It's not the money; it's the principle. It's not like they hand you an extra towel as you pass reception so where does the extra money go? I'm just glad i didn't bring an army of chicks back with me.

All in all, the staff were friendly and the hotel was ok but nothing more. The location isn't great at all. The road opposite isn't easy to cross and there are no bars in the immediate vacinity as with hotels on any of the Sois. I believe i was paying somewhere in the region of 1600 per night (suite) and then joiner fees.

Also

Also, the hotel doesn't check the IDs of the girls for anybody who likes or dislikes that.

l think it is great little location........no bars....umm walk outside turn left, walk 50m and there are probably about 20.......walk outside turn right then left and again another 10/20.....there is even one straight across the road.

2nd road is not the easiest way to cross.....mind u l never take crossing roads too much into the equation when it comes to picking hotels......seems easier with a dozen Singha's under ya belt.

Policy about the girls has been exposed last 2/3 weeks on this and other Forums

Trust me to miss the 20 bars on the left.

I prefer somewhere in the thick of things. I went to Sandy after this as i enjoyed my stay there last time. As usual, they were perfect. Went for the suite at 1990 baht a night through scandibar. Probably twice the size of the suites at RG - they were massive.

Areca Lodge

I guess persistence pays off. Went thru their website rather than third party and they were able to find me a room for Jan. After my moto trip in cambo, i really want to be able to lounge around the pool alternating between heinekins and fruit shakes for a few days.

Tried to book flipper but no response so all's well w/ Areca.

Hi Jonny,
I get to PTTY on the 18th of Jan. and plan to stay for at least three days. My tg in PTTY wants to go somewhere (Samui or Chiang Mai but probably not back to Phuket) so i'm not sure where i'll be after the 21st. Got to head back to the states on the 29th so it looks we will have to hook up on a future tour.
Jim
