Hi guys, going to arrive in pattaya in early june and looking for a hardcore bodybuilding gym in the area. I know of universe gym which is abit out of the way now its moved from beach road any other gyms in the area? Ill be staying at the sandy springs hotel. Any thoughts on this hotel and what would it cost by baht bus to universe gym.

Hello markytee;
I stayed at the Sandy Spring Hotel early December. Nice hotel, quite new and very guest friendly. Spend a little more and get a Delux room which overlooks the swimming pool. I will stay at this hotel again, highly recommended.
When you book you DO NOT need to place a deposit (1 nights cost for accommodation). When you arrive they take an inprint of your credit card and you pay in full when you leave. There was a little mix up with this when I stayed there!
Cant help with the gym however.

Try the Chevin Gym located in Soi Day Night 2. Plenty of equipment and lots of GoGo Girls go there in the afternoon before work.
800 Baht buys you 10 visits with no time constraints.

Gday markytee
Try Tonys gym on the 3rd road near the corner of soi langkee (which starts out as soi diana) I cant remember how much it was but it was really cheap.
There was big musle men there and blokes like me.

Pattaya probably has more gyms per square km than anywhere else in the world. Just go to your hotel reception and ask for the nearest "Baah" -that's the Thai word for gym. In every gym ("Baah") you will find a wide variety of fully automated, self-powered exercise equipment, called LBFMs. LBFMs are environmentally friendly and run on rice and alcohol, but not necessarily in that order. You can hire a LBFM for a brief workout ("Shortime") or take it back to your hotel for a more extensive session ("Longtime"). LBFMs come in a variety of strengths from simple floormats ("Starfish") to complete aerobic workout systems ("Energizer Bunny"). In cases of excessive exertions, some LBFMs have built-in physiotherapy capabilities.
Enjoy.

I tend to do all my gym work in the hotel room, assisted with a personal trainer.

I must agree. Been to Universe Gym most of the times before, but since it moved from beach road to sukhumvit, it ain't the same anymore.
It also changed owner last month.
Last month i was in Pattaya and training at Tony's.
Good machines, heavy weights, friendly staff, and it's cool inside too.
It's also open 24h now.
I also think it's the best choice for the moment.
Keep on pump'in :
Steve

nice, a 24 hour gym. I will be checking it out early may. Sounds Like Tony's is what I was looking for as well. Unsafe area? Will they hassle two 250+ pound roid heads on there way home?
