Before you moan, no it is not about taxi costs from Bangkok to Pattaya,plenty of info on that.
Anybody know the taxi costs from Pattaya airport into Pattaya town?.I have heard that it could cost as much as 1000 baht becuse the taxi guys have a monopoly.Also how far is the airport from the actual town??

Its about a 30 - 40 minute drive from U-Tapao into Pattaya. I've only done it the once and can't recall exactly how much was paid but it was less than 1k, maybe about 600? A mate I was travelling with had arranged the taxi pick up in advance through some bloke he'd used before. Probably a good idea to arrange one ahead of arriving if you don't fancy taking the bus as there didn't seem to be much else there.

I'm not sure if you mean meter-taxi or limo, but here's a link quoting limo prices http://www.phuketdir.com/palbuco/rate.htm which I would presume are more expensive that meter-taxis.

Thats Phuket tho Diz..

I have also been told that U-Tapao is a racket and they have you stuck by the curlies.. I was told 40 odd minutes but 1000 baht taxi.. No meter taxis and the minibus service hard to get an un reliable (cant verify) for 600 or so a Pattaya taxi can be arranged to pickup..

Whoops !! Well spotted - sorry CeeGee I don't know about the route you mention.

I was there in Oct' 05 and I used the minibus straight to my hotel (2nd Road, central Pattaya) for 200 Baht. Ticket can be bought at the counter just before going out the door.
