Is there any point in going to places other than Pattaya?
I had 10 days in Thailand last time. I wasted 2 in Bangkok and then went straight down to Pattaya. At the end of the day, i know what i want and i got loads of it in Pattaya. Is there any point in going anywhere else? Afterall, if the mother asks to see my photographs then i can just get a few pictures of temples from this site and show her them like i did last time.
I remember reading somewhere that it's a bad idea to take a girl with you from one city to another as you'll always find more. Clearly they are everywhere but...you know...i'm fussy and need a massive selection. Is there any point in going to Chang Mai, the Islands or anywhere else you may know of? I heard the prices are a lot higher on the islands for everything. Also, if i do happen to venture to somewhere really remote - will i still be able to pick up a chick or too? Every single day i played pool with my mate and drank while chatting to the bar girls in between them racking up the balls for us. I'm seeing these pictures of people feeding baby tigers and stuff and thinking i should probably do a bit of that really. I could enjoy seeing a bit of the culture i reckon. If i do go again this year as apposed to Eastern Europe or Bali, then it will be towards the end of October, so i hear that any outdoor activities will be weather-permitting.

You know Walkerbx, I feel the same way. But I always change my agenda once I get there. I always plan on seeing some of the cultural stuff the country has to offer, but then the lovely ladies throw me off of my plan again and again
Not saying that I'm complaining becuase I always leave satified and thinking to myself, I'll see the country on me next trip

Well you are on a Phuket board Walker so I suggest you take a look at the sections above and see what everyone else has to say about Phuket........Patong Beach in particular
Depends if the beach/day life is important to you or not I guess......

Yesterday i had a read and found that there are apparently some decent beaches a short boat ride beyond Jomtiem so i'll bear that in mind for next time. That said, my mate burns in about 10 minutes so i wouldn't be that likely to do the beaches anyway.
I'm posting under pattaya as i need the opinion of pattaya addicts on whether or not i should bother with the rest of thailand. It's really not about Phuket, as i get the impression that Phuket isn't particularly the place to go for culture.

Again, depends on what you want. Only girls then nothing beats Pattaya. Me, I could only stay there 3-4 days, then I'd had enough anyway.

I sometimes say to myself.....is there any point going anywere other than soi 6. But I know in reality Thailand has many other great great things to see and do. Why not go and have a look at phuket, or any part of Thailand, and make up your own mind.
Its a case of each to there own, and youll never know if a place has what your looking for if you dont go and have a look..

So if you want culture Bangkok, Chiang Mai Ayuthaya are the places to visit..........you can also find plenty TGs in all of these places in descending order...........best to take a GF to Ayuthaya tho' not much there.........
Pattaya of coursee is a full on mongers town but te beaches are crap........Jomtien + Naklua are much better beaches and places to stay nearby IMHO.....you can go out to nearby islands on a ferry boat which leaves fro te main pier or you can also visit beautiful Kho Samet for a day trip but overnight is better......koh Chang is a couple of hundred Ks away and a boat rip but it is aslo beautiful.......
If you want the best beaches combined with great nightlfe Phuket is the place to go.............it is much more laid back than Patts
I hope that this is the kind of info you are after.......

Thanks. I have seen p***y by the way, but you can never have enough unless of course you're in pattaya. Tip: Get practicing with photoshop and you can say you've been anywhere you like. It'll save you a trip to the jungle.

Well going nowhere else other than pattaya depends on what you want to do. If you wanna get laid and drunk most nights then yeah pattayafrom what i have heard is great (never been there myself but know a few people who swear by it) On the other hand IMHO you travel a long way to Thailand and there is more to do there than just get laid and drunk. Mind you for a 25 year old i find the history of Thailand quite fascinating and would love to see the whole country but each to there own. What matters really is if your happy at the end of the day doing that really that is all that matters.

Yep........me diving in the Similan Islands...best diving in all of Thailand........
You can dive with Mermaids out of Jomtien Beach + I think they are by far and away the best outfit in the Pattaya area........check out their site............. www.mermaidive.com
The best dive sites are the outer islands........better viz and more colours..........best area is around Samae San with two good wrecks and the best viz in the area..........definitely worth a couple of days diving down here!!!

What makes them the best?
What's your opinion regarding Aquanuats?
they seem fairly professional?

Had bad air one time with Aquanauts......will never dive with them again!!!!! They didn't handle the situation very well either!!!!
Always had good trips with Mermaids.......they are very professional, friendly and very concerned about diver safety.......as am I ........they are also the biggest/most popular around the area......have a large percentage of instructors/divemasters to divers ( no more than 4 divers per dive guide) and cover the best dive sites in the region IMHO..........I guess they just suit me

can u go into details without naming names?
i did a rescue course with another operator who boasted of small diver/instructor ratios etc, only to discover that i was shoved on an Aquanauts DM's course with other DM candidates, not what i had envisaged... and not impressed,
i suppose i was spoilt after having done OW & AOW with one-on-one instructor....

Couldn't really name names even if I wanted to Yobbo.....it was quite a while ago...but the jist of it was that quite a few people got sick onboard from their air and with my experoience I knew it wasn't good......due to taste and almost immediate headache.....I came up after 10 minutes.......these guys went into full on denial mode despite 4 of us refusing to dive after the first dive and then they wouldn't give our money back......I don't need to be crapped on twice.....I get the message after the first time........
As far as Mermaids go......well check out there site it says it all.....I just know and trust them..but I don't have any affiliation with them nor can I guarantee tha my experiences with them will be the same as for everyone who comes after me....In fact when I dive with them I go with another Dive Centre.....Moose Divers in Jomtien....as Claese the owner there is my buddy and uses their boats.......as do a couple of other dive centres.........If you book with Mermaids you will definitely go on one of their boats with one of their qualified guides and you will not have more than 4 people in your group....that is their m.o.....same can't be said for almost anybody else in that business in the area.....
