Hotel Pattaya.

Can someone tell me about Galaxy suites, Sandy Spring hotel or Whitehouse Condotel (clean rooms, no bugs, service, bill problems)?

I want to stay in one of the three hotels during my vacation in Pattaya but don't know what the best hotel is...

DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT the galaxy but sandy springs on soi 13 a lot of bms stayed there in july and i went there looking for them one day it looked a nice hotel with good swimming pool whitehouse if i am not mistaken is in JOMTIEN beach its a good hotel with nice pool area but you have the problem of needing a taxi for the 20 minute ride in and out to pattaya all the time !

I guess i'm just being picky cos i think the place is great, but the only problem with Sandy Spring is that it doesn't have a safe in the room and the safe at reception is only accessible until about 11 if i remember rightly. What's more, i managed to lose my safe key and was charged 3000 Baht for it. Scandalous really as that is a lot of money in Thailand and could probably buy 10 or more locks and keys. It won't stop me staying there again but i guess i'll be more careful in future. That's literally the only fault with this hotel as far as i'm concerned. Who wants to be protecting a key all day and night when they're on holiday?

sorry but don't really get you here........you can't look after a key???? .......... Wonder how you would go with a wallet........55555

and it costs the hotel heaps when you lose a key....they have to call in a locksmith and he has to cut through the safe and weld it back together......and then replace the lock and security key (these types of keys alone are not cheap)........

so if there wasn't an option of using the safe......how do you keep you valuables protected......walk around with them.....

True. I still doubt that it costs anywhere near to 3000 Baht though - even to replace the entire safe. What was most frustrating was that after staying there for nearly two weeks, it was only when i came to check out that i couldn't find the safe key - I didn't even need to use it anymore.

A better alternative is a safe in your room that you have access to anytime you like and better still - a safe with a pin code.

You're obviously not as careful with your belongings when you're on holiday, if only because you're drinking religiously day and night - well i am anyway. Anything i have on my person i can afford to lose, although I'd rather not.

It's only for the first 4 nights so i think i'll survive on maximum two at a time (probably). I'm a smoker though, so Areca is out. I'm still after that sofa ideally too. No jacuzzi suites left at Galaxy but they offered me a superior room. I assume they mean superior suite but i've asked them if they have sofa's and am waiting for an answer. I'm considering dropping residence garden an email next.
