Any evidence of a coup?

Obviously I have a trip to Patts fast approaching and must admit to losing a bit of sleep over it - or rather my dreams are being sabotaged a bit. I'm quite prepared to dodge bullets to get to my favourite Go Go but my worst nightmare is some righteous muppet decides that Thailand doesn't need the kind of publicity that pattaya gives it and decides to do something about it. Now that would take all the fun out of the fishing and probably would mean the end of the fishbowl completely.

On a more realistic note; has anybody noticed any restrictions or even any difference whatsoever for life in Patts after recent events?

Yeah I am but the general consensus online (on this and many other forums) is that even in BKK its extremely low level now.. Occasional soldier etc.. Patts even more normal.

No real changes from the coup as yet.. Certainly for any trip thats 'fast approaching' it would seem unlikely to have Pattayas image cleaned up or fishbowls abolished by then.

I can confirm it is business as usual here in Pattaya and the events in Bangkok did not change anything.

Cool Price differences

Here's one for you:

For sure, there will be less people in Thailand for the next couple of months. Do you think this will mean that things are:

a) slightly cheaper for the next few weeks as they need your business more?
b) slightly more expensive as they need to make up for potential loss of business and because the baht is worth slighly less than it was a couple of weeks ago?
c) file that in my who gives a **** book.

We should have voting buttons.

I reckon there is still time for things to change in the next few weeks though Stavros. They will be short of a few bookings.

I was out and about in Walking Street last night (Saturday)& I was amazed at how busy it was...Perhaps Pattaya is already benefiting from the much closer new Bangkok Airport.
