Lightbulb Where to spend 2006 Christmas

What would be the best location to spend christmas, Pattaya, Samui or Phangan.

Will start my holiday off in Pattaya by spending a few days there, then go to Samui for a couple of days, then back to Pattaya then to Koh Phangan for half moon party taking place on the 28th of december 2006. Heard there will be a big party at new years, so if i like the half moon party then i will defenatly run back for the near years bash.

So that leaves me with the 24th December, have not figured out yet where to spend it, i was thinking of spening it in Pattaya any good places there, that wont leave you dissapointed

Hmmmm, i have a hotel booked for 6 days in Pattaya right off walking street (Jasmine Hotel), from 16th to 22nd December, maybe i should book another hotel in Pattaya for the period of 22nd to 25th (somewhere on soi 6), then head to Samui for 3 days to take some time off Heavy Nightlife. Head to Phangan for the Half Moon Party (28th), be back in Pattaya on the 29th, spend the 29th and 30th there. Head straight to Phangan for the 31st, head back to Pattaya on the 1st. And be ready to depart back home on the 2nd of january

Shall i go to Phangan on the 19th for Black Moon Party too? How much would it cost me to get there by boat and how long? I would just go there for one night, without even bothering to book a hotel, any short time hotels around? Party till late night, take lady to a short time hotel, then be back out again, party till 6am or so, then get on the boat and be back at Pattaya, sleep till 5-6pm, then back on Pattaya streets like nothing has happened

How does that sound?

PS: Does any1 think spending 6days in Jasmine hotel would be too much for me? As changes can be made

I'm worn out just reading what you will be doing. Travel time is wasted time in my opinion. Decide what you want out of the holiday the most, and then work around that. If it's mongering, stay in Pattaya, if it's quiet time with some girls available, then Samui.

If you are based in Patts and want quiet time, go to Jomtien for a few days.

Jasmine hotel has been mentioned. I like the price and am aware that there is no pool, but does anyone know if there is a sunbathing area on the roof?

I will e-mail them when I get home, but wondered if anyone on this board has stayed there?

I've stayed there twice before during shorter trips and was not aware of any sun bathing area on the roof however, I had a balcony room facing the beach and quite often I would sit out there taking in a bit of sunshine until it got too hot due to the glare from the tin roof of the adjacent Happy A GoGo.

I specifically asked the guy in charge about this and he said that in the future they were going to extand upwards by building another floor (any structural surveyors got any comments ). Anyhows, in the meantime before they build he was going to get some comfy chairs and nice palm trees. I will print the e-mail I have and if they are not in place when I arrive there will be trouble

Location is OK Pentire? Any other comments?

Cheers

The jasmine was good enough for me and a major advantage is the ''Newness'' of the place and it's fixtures and fittings. Free computer use also with two guest PC's. A nice bar and excellent food plus the beds are nice and soft.
The manager William is an absolute Gent who will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable.

As long as he does not expect me to bend over forwards

They do seem friendly and helpful with the e-mails I've had with them.

Are there safe deposit boxes in reception or in the room?

In reception..Infact they are in the computer room opposite the Managers/Owners office. The rooms have a desk drawer which can be locked while you retain the key so that is ideal for small amounts of money and camera etc.
