Sunday Market and Food Market in Pattaya

I was looking at this map of Pattaya:
Street Map
and right at the end of the right hand side (near Banglamung Hospital), there are 2 markets one is a sunday market, i assume its only open on sundays, and the other one is a food market. Has any1 been to any one of those, and what are the opening times, how big is it, what they sell. Just an overview of the atmosphere there would be much appreciated, as those markets are on my daytrip list.
Or maybe youve been to some other market in Pattaya and want to share your expereinces.

Strange - I was going to post a question this morning asking about where to find a big market in Pattaya.

I don't know if you've been to Pattaya before, but all along beach road there are stalls and lots of them on both sides. I'm not sure what time they set up but they stay there till mid evening if i remember rightly. I imagine that these are priced up since they are right in the tourist area - everybody walks down this street. Still cheap though.

Hi, guys!
The market that you mentioned on that map are in Nahkleua north of Pattaya.
I've never been up there but I think the sunday market are the same market that builds up at the end of Soi Bua Khao near South Pattaya road every
Tuesday and Friday!

It's called "Talaat Nut", The Meeting Market, in Thai.
Here is a link to my movie that I shot at the market earlier this year:
http://plahgat.livedigital.com/content/744045/

It's probably the biggest market in Pattaya, and has everything under the sun for sale, from dogs and other pets to clothes and fruit and vegetables, orchids and second hand stuff like mobile phones, you name it they got it!
There is also a big Fresh Market across south Pattaya road that is opened everyday, with food, fruit and vegetables, meat and fresh fish and clothes as well!
There are also a smaller freshmarket on Central Pattaya road, slighly more expensive.
Fruits are also for sale at "tourist" prices at the carpark behind Mike Shopping Mall on Second Road.
There are also several markets at night on Soi Bua Khao at the other end near Central Pattaya Road.
So, if you like markets Pattaya is the place to go!

Hi!
True Night Markets doesn't start to come to life until after dark!
Night Markets or "Talaat Dto Roong", usually are dominated by lots of foodstalls, with some fruitsellers and clothes stalls.
There might be a few stalls open in daytime as well.
But they do most of their trade just after sunset when Thai people go out to eat.
They are quite busy up til about midnight or later on holidays, depends on how many customers they have.

There is also a small market which is very cheap and easy to get to located in south pattaya.

Start from Second road, go up South pattaya rd (pattaya tai) which is the road that joins with walking st at the beach road end.

You will see a large wat on the left (wat chaimongkon) and gold shops to the right a little further up, after this you will see soi 24 on the left and Tops Supermarket slightly further on the right.

Take the small soi after soi 24 on the left (almost opposite Tops) and you will see the market area.

Bought some bargains from there myself as you don't see many farang there, mainly thai's only.

Hi, Butterflyblonde!
You have me a little bit lost here?
To me it sounds that you are describing the way to "Talaat Nut"!?
Although this is not a "small" market!
Maybe you were there on a Sunday when they have put up just a few stalls, compared to Tuesdays and Fridays?
Besides the Tops Supermarket is in Central Pattaya near the intersection to Second Road, although there is a small Tops down at the basement of Tuk.com on South Pattaya Road as well, or maybe you meant The Friendship Supermarket further on after Tuk.com?
Both of these are opposite the entrances to "Talaat Nut".
Anyway there are several Sois to enter "Talaat Nut" from South Pattaya Road, starting with Soi Bua Khao, maybe you entered the market on one of the smaller ones?
I don't think there is any other smaller market in this area, because I stayed here for a total of 3 months last trip in Soi 11 South Pattaya Road, and walked by every day!

Well spotted that man.

The soi may actually be Soi buakow (or the start of) ? At the South road end. It is also a baht bus route to get to and from Carrefour shopping centre.

So if any of you want to go to Carrefour by baht bus (cost 10 baht) Just wait for it on Soi buakow.
