Best Tailor

Can anyone give me recommendations on Tailors in Patts please?

You have to be careful as i know that some of them are a bit cr@p. Last time i was there, i walked into one tailor shop and spoke to the guy. I told him that i wanted him to spend half an hour measuring me, then i wanted him to make a suit for somebody 4 inches taller and i also wanted the left leg to be 1 1/2 inches shorter than the right one. He looked at me confused and said "I'm sorry sir, I don't think we can do that." I asked "Why not? You f00kin did last time!"

ok so I stole the story but it cracked me up.

Seriously, I am looking for a recommendation though.

The in-house tailor at flipper lodge hotel is highly recommended - his name is Jaz.

Thanks Jez; I should have been clearer. I'm after having a couple of suits made.

8 of us visited Jaz last September and we all bought something including a few suits.

He has the Next directory, Various fashion magazines and can make any suit in any style.

Prices vary according to the quality of the materials......

Thanks -- this is funny. It sounds like we have the same tailor.

I've given up with tailors here in Patts-- perhaps bad luck but I'm fairing better with off-the-rack stuff. The last shirts that were made for me were a disaster -- generally poorly made with sleeves way too long. I took them back for alteration, and the results were worse than the original hack job -- ended up with the most expensive cleaning rags I've ever owned.

The way the system works here in Patts is that the Indians have the tailor shops and make a deal with you. After that, they go to the rows of sewing shops owned by the the Thais (near the Tuk Com parking lot) and have them make the stuff for much less than you're paying the Indian "front man".

Saying that, I imagine there are some good shops in Patts, but I'm not brave enough to try them again

I myself used the tailer at soi 13 and Beach Rd. His shop is on the left if you were going towards Walking St. He made my Bg a very nice suit and coat. i'm going to go there meself in a few weeks to get a matching vest and bow tie for a tux I have.

I was satisfied

Jas

ok lads, i will vouch for Jas at Flipper Lodge. I had two suits made and he seems to have done a good job. He's a nice guy too.

It took several fittings to get it right so you need to plan early. After the first fitting i wondered if he'd actually written anything down when he'd taken my measurements but as i said; all was good in the end. I'll let you know if they fall apart when i wear them.

FYI - he too doesn't make the suits. There was some problem with the way one of the suits looked and we couldn't work out what. He had the Tai tailor over within a few minutes to take a look for himself. Price was 8500 baht for a tux with shirt, tie and a business suit with shirt and tie. Bargain.

top tailor

Gday walkerbx

This friend of mine had this delightful suit made in pattaya earlier this year. The tailor was located on the 2nd road just near tims beer bar…….he was lucky because he came across the matching hat in a shop in Bangkok.
They though in the shirt for free ....what a deal.

Really? He's a wannabe pimp i take it?

Me and my mate were debating getting dumb and dumber style blue and orange tuxedos but decided against. Would get a few laughs turning up at the ball in those.

Sorry, I'm back home now.

He seemed like he might be one to take advantage of Pattaya's hospitality when he gets chance.
