Six foreign tourists injured in Pataya hotel fire

Pattaya - Six foreign tourists were injured after a fire raged through a hotel in this seaside town late Monday night, police said.

Police said the blaze broke out at a room on the fourth floor of the six-floor Marine Plaza Hotel at 20 minutes past midnight.

Eight fire engines took about half an hour to control the fire.

Three tourists were injured after falling from the building while climbing out to their room balcony to escape the fire. Three other became sick after inhaling smoke.

Police have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

I had a call last night saying there was a fire and I guess Coyotee's had to be evacuated also.

Another note - at 4:30am the whole of Beach Road, Patong was cordoned off by Police, anyone know why?

I went down the see what was going on last night after seeing the police fly by the bar were I was drinking…lots of smoke, fire trucks and police every were. All the bars and business were trading as if nothing was going on. I didn’t here about any injuries at time, maybe tonight Ill find out more. One thing though….I was very surprised how organized the Thaïs where, considering the narrow soi were the operation was taking place, they did a pretty good job.
