Cambodia happenings Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone from the land of the Khmer. I'm suffering from PTSD.

I quickly got a job waiting here in Cambodia. If anyone knows me (I doubt it) from one of the Philippine message boards should know that 3 years ago there was a drink challenge named after me in Byrd Cage.

Sugar Shack has brought it back to Phnom Penh and the first bottle will be cracked open this Friday if anyone is in town.

Drink 10 shots and get your name on the Wall of Fame.

The hotel I stayed at caught on fire Saturday night and I thought it was a domestic dispute. The girl I was with decided to go out of the room to watch the action. I told her to get back inside as I didn't want to get into a fight with someone fighting with their date.

The fire was real bad and the hotel staff was politely knocking on doors (quietly) to get patrons out of the hotel. I wound up running up and down the aisles screaming fire to get people up and out.

I was worried about my laptop and digital camera. She was worried about my clothes and rest of my belongings.

I carried a few elderly patrons out of the hotel and then went back into the hotel to get my belongings out of the safe. crazy. The front desk clerk said this "what's in here is yours?" I could have taken anything. I'm not a thief, so I just took what was mine.

I should be back in Pattaya in a few months. Miss the place already.

Anyways,

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope this is a great holiday season for everyone. Happy New Year to you and your entire family.

Bad news about the fire in your hotel - after hearing/seeing some of the cases where fires have resulted in deaths (locked escape doors etc)... sounds like the staff did a good job in evacting the hotel.

Hope you have a less stressful New Year!

I'm glad your safe and didn't lose anything in the fire.....which hotel were you staying at and did you have to relocate? Hopefully you weren't staying at Flamingo's....as I have a reservation there in about 2 weeks.

I followed your link to the Sugar Shack website....will definately have to stop in there and check it out.

Take care and have a Happy Holiday

I'm ok

The hotel was Royal Highness. The manager decided that if anyone checked out they lost their money. Two rooms were pretty much destroyed and they have been fixing them since.

I'm usually in Sugar Shack after 8pm when I get off of work. I'll buy you a beer. Just ask for me.
