Never Been to Pattaya, What's it Like?

Roughly how many x's the amount of available girls?

About same proportion of beer bars, go-gos, and fl's?

Are prices for the girls about the same? What about quality?

Any input would be appreciated. Again, I know next to nothing about the place...

Times Patong by 20 and you're still nowhere near it.

Try the Flb bar website . There's a good video clip of walking street .That is just a small fraction of the action . There's also soi Pattayaland ,full of gogo
bars . Beach road with beer bars , 2nd road even more bars . Soi 6 , soi 8 ,full of short time bars .I went into a bar and was getting wanked and blown before I had my first sip of lager.I haven't mentioned half of of the action that's available and I haven't done half of it . I've only been there 8-10 times , Crazy place .

Price wise a bit cheaper .The only time I've been to Patong was after some government warned patong would be the next Bali and I thought the prices were the same . They could have been cheaper then because the resort was empty . I don't know.

The Pty beer bars close when you leave not at 2am.They just turn the music off. that could be changing soon .who knows .

The girls are better simply because there's more to chose from. The percentages of 8/10's are probably the same.

Seriously I could write about Pty for the rest of the day and not cover everything . Become a member of the the above website forum . I'm back in Patong next month as I like the laid back atmosphere more than I like the Pty craziness . The Phuket beaches are better , The foods better and I hope the same after 2 am drinking den is still staying open.That's all I need as I'll be doing the gfe again. In Pty usually alone .

Downside is the amount of English football hooligans.

Phuket is like a sunday afternoon in the country by comparison, but nice for a relaxing beach holiday and the odd slapper thrown in.

If you think you are good at playing this game.....go to Pattaya.

I visited Phuket long before I ever set foot in Pattaya. I asked a couple of the girls in Patong, and they just said it was the same.

Last trip, I tried Pattaya for a month. It's fairly large, compared to Patong Beach, but it's easy to get around on the Baht buses. It's easier to find somewhat cheaper hotels in Pattaya. As for the girls? I found the friendliest girls in Bangkok, followed by Pattaya, and then Phuket. YMMV.

I think the advice from River is spot on - If you love phuket like most of us do and haven't tried Pattaya yet then it would be better to stay Pattaya for only a short time just to give it a ''test run''

I don't know how many times you have visited los but many newbies may find Pattaya a bit much to handle as it is full on in your face right from the moment you arrive - I just returned from there and ended up in hospital due to my excess drinking and shagging.

My 1st tryout of Pattaya was 6 months ago - 1 week Pattaya and 2 weeks Phuket and a visit to the Phi Phi islands which was a perfect combiantion of full on crazyness and then relaxation.

I just done 3 weeks in Pattaya and to be honest I loved it but it does get a bit much at times as there are so many women after your blood.

As for the quality of women, I have heard a lot before that bangkok and phuket has better looking women - don't believe it
Pattaya has thousands more women than those places put together - so if you think about the statistics - you are going to find stunners in amongst more average girl on a much larger scale.

Everywhere I walked in 3 weeks my jaw was dropping at some of the talent.
The Agogo's and discos of Walking st in particular are crammed full of real beauties. There are also many great catches in Soi 7 - 8 and the bars around and near soi 2.

Something else I liked about Pattaya - many beer bars away from Walking st simply do not close down - hence I had to be treated in hospital

I was drinking on Soi 8 and many other areas like that until 5 - 6 - 7am quite regularly, you will also notice that the action starts in beer bars and Agogo's early afternoon - Patong ladies tend to turn up very late evening - sometimes as late as 9pm - Pattaya beer bars can be packed to the rafters by 2 & 3pm.

The opportunity for s/t in the day is far greater as a result before choosing your l/t sleepover in the night. Then of course there are many s/t bars, far better soapies than maybe even Bangkok which is always going to be a matter of debate.

And the prices for food and drink in general are kept very low and rival most other tourist areas quite easily - only places like Issan may be cheaper.

Personally, I love Pattaya but it is a lot to take in, especially on your maiden voyage, you need to joing the www.pattayatalk.com which you will find on the FLB BAR website as another member already mentioned.

I can only repeat what BB has said, At first I was not really looking forward to pattaya but my friend really wanted to go, So we decided to give it a go for a week or so, But even on the plane I was trying to talk him into staying for about 3days and then heading back to patong for the other 4/5days, It was more to do with all the bad reviews I read on the place, About how it was so dirty and sleazy, And how there was a lot of old men walkng around with under age girls, And that put me right off before I even got there.

Honestly though, Nothing could have been further from the truth, Yes the place was a bit dirty but not dirtier than any of the other places I had been too, With the exception of the beach which I didnt even bother going near, But I am not really a beach kind of person, So that didnt bother me either way.

Onto the point about the place being sleazy, Well I dont think it was as bad as some people make it out to be, I think due to the high number of girls working there and the amount of bars, go-go's and disco's, There is a lot more competition for the girls and therefore they tend to go that little bit further in trying to get there man for the night, ie: Showing a little bit more flesh than you would see in patong And I found they dont mess about either, They get straight to the point aswell, Which would be a good thing for someone who was shy Not me of course

And the main thing that was bothering me before I went there was the under age thing, And thankfully I did not see anything like that at all, Which was great because that sort of shit would turn me right off!!

Anyway as I said before I got there I was thinking of cutting my stay there short and going back to patong, But after I got there I didnt want to leave, I thought the place was fu*king brilliant and on my next tour which wont be until the end of December I am planning on staying in patong for 16days and then going back there for 2wks before I go home.

Dont get me wrong I still love phuket and patong in particular, Especially because of all the BMs I have met up with there who have mostly been great guys, And it is still No1 for me because of that but if your looking for a place to mix up your holiday instead of staying in the same place (Which is a must for me), Pattaya is a great alternative and I would highly recommend it
