Two Russian women shot in Pattaya
Two Russian women killed at Jomthien beach
PATTAYA: -- Two Russian women, both tourists, have been shot dead in the Eastern seaboard resort of Jomthien, adjacent to Pattaya, about 110 kilometers (70 miles) southeast of Bangkok, police said. Tatiana Tsimfer, 30 and Liubov Svirkova, 25 were killed when an unidentified gunman fired four shots from a 9 mm pistol, police said. Their bodies were found lying on the beach while their personal effects were left untouched. Witnesses reportedly told police that they saw the victims drinking alcohol and swimming earlier. Initially, police investigators believed that the Russian tourists probably quarreled severely with a beach chair concessionnaire which led to the later violence. Its a bit of a shocker that one.
I have seen a lot more Russians in Phuket recently too, usually big guys spending big in places like the Salsa Bar in the Phuket Cabana and it always makes me wonder. I have also seem the women knocking around from time to time and you are right about the Bionic Bodies. I remember having a Pizza with two of them at the Pizza Hut at 4am in Soi Sansabai and then waking up in a stange Hotel room in just my underwear and having to walk home  (sans money and clothes)  Best avoided, but a shame about what happened. Maybe I'm slow here, but what could be the motive in a case like this one. Two girls shot dead in deck chairs, drinking on the beach. No customers around... maybe. But, why shoot them comng on a two week tour, even if they were pros????

OK, I guess I will have to spell it out for both of you...
There were two Russian girls in Pattaya on a two week tour... whether they were pros or not is still unknown at this point. Whether they were visiting "tourists" place, I have no idea. But the question is... what was the motive in a case like this? And MrDK, please don't quote newspapers articles to me... I haven't believed them in years...it's just entertainment for me nowadays. |

Police find few clues in the murder of Russian women
Police are offering a Bt100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer of two Russian tourists at Jomtien Beach on Saturday morning. Investigators have few clues as to a motive behind the killings. Tatiana Tsimfer, 30, and Liubov Svirkova, 25, were found dead in their beach chairs at about 5am on Saturday. Five spent 9mm cartridges were recovered from the scene. Post mortem examinations show one woman was shot six times and the other four times, according to Provincial Police Region 2 commissioner Lt-General Asawin Kwanmuang. Security cameras captured a "tall man of indistinct nationality" parking a motorcycle at a beachside footpath, running up to the women and shooting them before fleeing. Police have discounted robbery. "From the gunman's dress - jeans and boots - we suspect he is a member of a Pattaya teenage gang," Asawin said. Both the women worked as telephone operators in Vladimir City in Russia and were visiting Thailand with a tour group. Asawin said the women entered Thailand on February 16. They separated from the group to travel by themselves. "They probably had nothing to do with the transnational prostitution," Asawin said. "I have no idea what they did during the eight days in Pattaya to lead to their murder." A counsellor at the Russian Embassy in Bangkok, Vladimir Pronin, met the police yesterday and rejected allegations in local newspapers the women were involved in prostitution. He expressed concern for Russian tourists in Thailand. Police set up a temporary command post at a hotel near the scene. Twelve units have been assigned to the case that police worry might affect tourism at the popular seaside resort. Pattaya police superintendent Colonel Sutin Trappuang said investigators were looking at prostitution, drugs and sex as motives. Police are questioning known members of Russian gangs living in Pattaya and people at night entertainment venues on the city's Walking Street. |

I watched the video tonight on the Thai news of the actual shooting. Guy was really cool about the way he did the deed, not complimenting him just he looked very distant from the act he was commiting.
And whats this all about 5 shells found and one women was shot 6 times and the other 4 times, 6 + 4 = 10. On the TV he looked like he fired once into each person. Is this post a little bit impersonal from me? maybe it is, so I apologise in the first instance to anyone I have offended by my seemingly uncaring attitude, I do care as it is an awful as well as unlawful act, but this was just my first honest impression.

They came with a tour group. But, they separated from the tour group. They were most likely influenced by someone to do so. By doing a visa run each month they could stay in LOS for at least 3 months, and probably a good deal longer if they got fake papers, or merely waited until they were busted for overstaying their visas. That could be a year or more, with any luck at all.
They were executed. That is a mob killing. How many times in LOS has even one, let alone two tourists, been killed by a hitman? Never, as far as I know. Add that to the fact that they are Russian, and the Russian mob is in Pattaya, and it spells mob hit. They simply got mixed up with the wrong people and were made an example for other girls not to cross the mob. |
