Pattaya Bay Resort
Guys,
have had to move my trip to Patts until Oct ober now and am still undecided as to where to stay. I have been looking at the natural beach hotel on soi 11 as it has everything that I am looking for (pool, balcony and close to beach). Also the price is good at 900 baht for a supieriour (sp??) room. My question is has anyone stayed there before and if so how was it. Also any other recomendations are appreciated.
Cheers

Try Somewhere Else !
It is tired and worn.
Brand new is much better.

Yes indeed Saleom, I stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort for a two and half weeks recently in this deluxe room at 1200 per night with every seventh night free....Absolutely the best digs I have ever had in Pattaya and it is American owned with excellent management.
But...Do Book Early !
|
Thanks for the advice on booking early. I am just waiting conformation now. I was looking at the prices and as I will be there 2 days into high season the price was 1300 baht for a standard room. I am going to ko samet for a break in between my 8 night stay, do you know off the top of your head if that still applies to a free night (not too bothered though)??
btw, I see you had some nice company while in Patts!!!

Knowing the owner and as you are only just two days into their tariff change, ask them for a deal and I'm sure they shall oblige.
Also, in about a months time a brand new shopping and cinema mutiplex is going to open which is only a 100 meters away.

Pentire - I read somewhere it was not very safe walking up the soi to Pattaya bay Resort. What do you think??
Does Deluxe come with a balcony?

Every room has a balcony, deluxe also has furniture on that balcony.
Yes, at night time I would have reservations about walking up the 600 or so meters of Soi 15 but day time no prob's whatsoever. Come October problem solved because a new Soi through to Second Rd shall open as part of the complex I mentioned earlier. In the meantime the hotel provides a free tuk tuk to Second Rd and every time I came back at night it was on a motorsai taxi or indeed on my own scooter.

just had a reply and now booked into Pattaya bay Resort for Xmas period.....(I took a deluxe room at 2K but) standard room at bht1300 per night is very good value for a hotel of this class with balcony + in room safe....a lot of the dodgy cr@ppy ones which are normally 500-600bht per night in low season are asking more than this....and some of these are booked out already!!!!
They were great to deal with and explained joiner fee....free for two people (you + a gal) but after that the third person is bht500.....I am not a 3 some kinda guy anyway but if I did it for a treat the bht550 wouldn't bother me....
good one Tim...will pm you with dates etc

Pentire,
I just want to say a huge thanks for the hotel reference. I have spent hour after hour scouring the net looking for a decent place with no luck. being my first time in Pattaya it was also hard as I dont know where most things are. I have booked a room there for 8 nights in October with a quick 3 day break to Ko samet in between. Will let you all know how it is once I return and post a T/R.
Saleom.
p.s If we ever happen to cross paths down the line I will owe you a few beers.

Yea last time I stayed at Lek Hotel which is ok. Just fancied a bit nicer digs! I was in the old building and it smelled a little!
Security was top notch tho!

With my own scooter sarsbuk that was never going to be a problem. As mentined the hotel has a free TukTuk service to second rd and at the entrance to Soi 15 there is a posse of motor sai taxi riders who shall transport you to the door for 20 baht.
Anyway, come September when the Avenue complex opens the location shall no longer be an issue cos the walk to second rd will take five minutes unless you stop at one of the shops.
Also, free use of PC's in the lobby and great wireless connectivity in every room free of charge.
IMO...In Europe these deluxe rooms would be 4 star easily.
I probably should have started the Pattaya Bay Resort's own thread.

My pleasure mate...No way was i gonna let you stay at the Natural Beach and now that you have decided against it, let me tell ya, it is a dump and should be demolished compared to places like PBR which are now springing up all over town.

Next month! Sept 2 - 6th Sept. This hotel has had some great reviews on Pattaya Addicts also.
Only concern is the 600 m walk from 2nd road at night!!! But they gave me cell number to call and said they will come and colect!!
Seems like customer service is important here!
Just have to cancel my Secrets reservation! As nice as Secrets appears, After a while I decided I would rather be a little bit out from all the action.
