The Vault Hotel
A very good mate of mine (Dirty Mike) just had a fortnight at the The Vault Hotel - Pattaya, Thailand he reckons it suited him to a tee.
Now Mike is a dirty ba5tard and he shall even try to fcuk the crack of dawn if it wore a G-string  So, if any of you mongers are of a similar disposition then this could be a welcome alternative to the Penthouse Hotel.

No dawsey, another version of Dirty Mike.
I needed a place to stay for 4 days in mid Jan while having a long weekend in Pattaya prior to returning a week later.Today I contacted The Vault and they immediately responded with a confirmed reservation in one of their long rooms at 1400 Baht per night with an offer of a 10% discount should I pay a 200 Baht membership fee on check in. For those of you who are not familiar with Pattaya, this place is no more than a 3 minute walk to the night time delights of Walking Street.

I've stayed at The Vault a few times, never had any issues with the place. Perfect walk to the action, convenience stores near by, travel agency near by Clinic across the street. Great rooms, all of them have large walk in showers, large bed, stereo systems, internet. You feel like a pimp in the penthouse suite, what more could you want?

Cool cool cool I just got my reservations confirmed for a stay at the Vault for Feb, can't wait...
Kinda hard to compare it to the penthouse suites though sure a few rooms have dancing poles nice bar set up and jacuzzi, but the guy that owns the vault isnt an A$$. And the vault doesnt try and rip you off at every turn. Enjoy

Was in a baht bus last trip to Pattaya whwn we went past The Vault.
Seems a bit more than "2 minutes walk from the action" but maybe others can comment on that.

It's only 2-3 minutes to the top end of walking street for sure. I stayed there in December.
Not sure about the owner though. He tries his luck with the girls entering the hotel if you're not accompanying them, by his own admittance. I sent one back to meet me at the hotel on my last night. I was running late so called her and she said she was having a drink with the hotel owner. When I got back to the hotel neither of them were to be found. Not good at 2am on your last night when you have to be heading back out to the bars.

I get the feeling it's not the first time. Days before he did it, he even said that sometimes people take the funnies obout him taking too much interest in their girls.
Saved my favourite one for my last night, paid her 600 Baht bar fine then ended up with some old hag. We live and learn. In fairness the hotel was spot on and I'd stay there again. I'm talking about the penthouse suite. I'll not be pluggin the place any more than that though...and I won't let a bird I actually like walk in or out of there on her own again.

Might stroll down and have a look in the next few days. Already have a place for the first few days in town but will be looking for an upgrade.

Heh WalkerB, if he did that to me, I'd just deduct the bf off the room bill, with a written message explaining why!!
I wouldn't find it funny either, what else would he find funny and do?? and if I was to stay there, think I'd give him a little warning before my occupation commenced. Think, if I felt my girl was going to get molested or approached everytime she visited my hotel, would definately not stay there!!

No I didn't find it funny Dodge. I did think about claiming my 600 Baht but by morning it was more about pretending I wasn't that bothered. He never showed his face anyway. No doubt he was having a lie in with my bird.

It was my last night Mav.
Since I first mentioned this a fiew posts ago, he has emailed me to explain himself. He says that it was another customer from the Vault that he was out drinking with that took her back to the hotel, against his wishes which he made clear to the customer to avoid exactly these kind of problems. The text I got from the puying did say that she was "already there drinking with the owner" when I asked her to meet me at the hotel. There's only one way for me to interpret that but Mike does say that he only drank with her in the gogo. I'd say that it is open to the possibilty of communication breakdown which I'm sure a few of us have fallen victim to while in Thailand. Lads, we should bare in mind that there are two sides to every story. I'm basing my assumptions on the information I have and have been careful not to say that I know for a fact that he took my girl. I didn't see him again as my checkout time was 6am and I didn't email him to ask about it. I'd say I have a responsibilty to the board to contribute what I have though whether they be suspicions or otherwise. For all you know, I could be the owner of a competing hotel, so perhaps it'd be wise not to base decisions on the opinion of just one BM.

I have made reservations for late May , will remember to keep GF close, any info on where to get a good western breakfest close to the hotel, no problems with price for a good breakfest.
