Best place in Pattaya is Casa Pascal, in a soi opposite Marriott. Owner is a "Korean" Swiss guy (adopted?). Top class French style, but expensive.
Do a google search, don't want to post the link.

glad to hear you rate it as at least a good shithole then.....555
It's clean by Thai standards...the service is prompt but not in yer face....the Thai food is good....I don't eat falang.....and it's very convenient so it'll do me (and thousands of others....mixed Thai + Falang....each day) as I stay in that area and the food is great for the price.....also enjoy the 2ndroad street frontage for people watching
and ......I've eaten ther 100's of times and never had so much as a tummy rumble.....

Had minced pork soup there the other day and it was shit hot.
My daughter had boiled eggs and bacon and very average with only one small piece of bacon. Same with the wife only her eggs were scrambled.
I don't remember what my youngest daughter had but she's very fussy and probably didn't eat it anyway.
I thought it was great food but the rest didn't want to go back and we walked past many times a day as we stayed in Soi Diana at Areca Lodge.
Regret it now as we had some shitty meals notably the restaurant at Dianna Inn. Some sort of BBQ that made all the meat taste the same. Did not matter pork, chicken, or beef YUK!. Also the lights kept going out. Only ate there after checking out beefeater which I agree is too expensive so did not go in.
Regards
DB

I totally agree but the hawkers/sellers of cds watches etc should not be allowed in there. It is bad enough when you have a beer let alone when you are eating.

Yes agree, Kiss restaurant good cheap food but the hawkers are over the top.
I have seen some agressive one's in there also. Not my idea of a relaxing way to have a meal.

Average at best
The farang breakfasts at Kiss are totally mediocre; I definitely would not recommend Kiss. The only redeeming value it has is its view of 2nd Road for people watching. Otherwise, there's tons of other better Thai restaurants. There's this little Thai restaurant on Soi Budhaow. Walk down Soi 10, and it's nearly right there. It's next to a newly-opened gold jewelry shop. Its small, but the food is perfect Thai, and it's inexpensive. Try breakfast for 40B. Course the way the price of rice has gone since I left Thailand, they probably raised the prices 5B. Now, for haircuts, there is Penn's Salon on Soi Bukhaow just a few doors down from this little restaurant.

If you want a really nice filet mignon steak wrapped in bacon and smothered in mushroom gravy, served on a sizzling plate, with fries, veggies, small salad and dinner roll, then go to the Diana Millenium restaurant on Soi Buakhaow. You can not beat it for 165 Baht. Best value meal in Patts and a nice restaurant, as well, but open-lobby type of set-up with fans, not aircon. The service is very good, as well. No hawkers, either, and the food is better than Kiss.
To get there, from Areca Lodge on Soi Diana, you would go to Soi Buakhaow, turn left and go on down a wee bit past the big lavender colored hotel, Siam Sawasdee, and look for the blue tile roof on the other side(right-hand side) of the street.
Damn, sure could go for one of those steaks right now. Good quality beef, so tender it melts right in your mouth!

If you are a duck lover I can reccommend this place. I went 5 times and had the same item, duck over rice. It's located between the beginning of Walking Street and 2nd rd. It's on the left if you are walking toward 2nd. I don't know the name but I think the walls were green. There was no door just an open entrance. Yum!

Yep. I have no shame in it. I prefer excel as I am not comfortable with word formatting.
Had the spreadsheet in effect this past trip and as plans for LOS go, there were many notes that were not utilized.
Map of Pattaya bars came in handy when I was ready to turn back in my walking quest for Soi 6. Was at Hard Rock sign and realized I was close to my objective

You never want to walk to Soi 6. You are on Soi 7, and think, "Oh, it 's a a block or two down...." Then you walk a mile or two to get there. Take the Baht bus, best 10 Baht you'll ever spend!

Give us your review after you try it!
Here's another one you might want to try, if you fancy a good pork chop on occasion: also on Soi Buakhaow, but it you were turning from Soi Diana onto Soi Buakhaow, youi would turn right, then about a half mile down the road on the left. It's only a couple hundred yards before you get to South Pattaya Road(Pattaya Tai), or less. It is a pub named Shearer's after the great footballer. There's table out front of the bar. You get a very nice pork chop, with gravy, peas, chips, and small salad for only 90 Baht! Ask for the pork chop special. It's a bit informal, and the service is very slow, but, hey, you can not beat it for 90 Baht!! Sometimes no one is there, but the LB that takes your order, but often there is a chap or two, from the guesthouse upstairs, having breakfast or a beer, and, in that case, you can always have a friendly chat, as it is a very friendly atmosphere there. DO NOT order the steak special there, as it's cheap beef, and not especially worth eating.

Which is fine if you are on Pattaya Klang but if you are on Pattaya Tai, there is a very nice food court in the basement of the Tukcom building, which is on Pattaya Tai, near Soi Buakhaow, a little closer towards 2nd Road. All the basic Thai dishes there, good quality, and very cheap. On a hot day, the aircon is a big plus, as well.

Duck Soup!! (with Blood)

More duck lover info!
There is a big market that sets up in a vacant lot on Soi Buakhaow, just around the corner from Pattaya Tai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sat or Sun(can't remember which). Just down the alley from the 7/11 on Pattya Tai there are restaurants set up in the alley, which is closed for traffic, when the market is open. One of these makeshift restaurants, I think the first, but, if not then the second one, coming off Pattaya Tai, is the Gauy Teeowl Pet place. That is noodle soup with Duck and Blood in it. The duck is great, and I'm quite fond of the Blood, as well, which is blood gelled into cubes, sort of like tofu is made from soybean milk, only this stuff is made from blood, and is heavier than tofu. Very interesting taste, quite nice, not too strong a flavor. However, if you are a farang and are by yourself, they will leave the blood out and you have to tell them, "Mai mii luat,"(I haven't any blood!), and they will take your bowl and add some! I guess they think farangs aren't going to eat the blood, so why waste it? But I rather like the blood(luat in Thai), and it goes quite well with the duck!! Yummy!
BTW, it's only 30 Baht, and a real gourmet treat!

I should have known when I first started the walk from Soi 14. Right away I am thinking Soi 13 would only be one Soi. There are several in a row(Boys town). Seemed like forever before I even got to Soi 12.
I think in 3 trips to Soi 6 I only took the baht bus 1 time and one way. Next time I will probably take it there every time.

Don't want to sound too picky, but the main days for the "Talaat Nut" Market at the end of Soi Bua Khao in South Pattaya are on Tuesdays and Fridays, although they nowadays put up a few stalls on Sundays and other days as well!

Don't know how higher class you want to go, but the restaurant mentioned in my original post is a nice place...

Casa Pascal is top. European food, served classy like in good restaurants in Europe. I haven't found better. You can compare it with the 9th Floor, maybe even better.
Restaurant Pattaya Casa Pascal

Went to Bruno's (Thappraya rd towards Jomtien beach)....food was great!...wine, very expensive.
Also the Chinese at the Royal cliff hotel(seems daft going for a Chinese when in Thailand...but for a change of scenery mainly....it is very good).
