I know it is a little away from the water but I like Areca Lodge in Soi Dianna off second road, opposite Mike shopping centre, around 900-1,000 but you have to book. Has pool nice place but very popular. If you walk up a little further up soi Dianna, away from the beach, there is a little soi on the left with lots of new places for around 7 -800 good rooms good value. Check that near by building work has finished though. The is a BJ bar called Lolita’s (what else) in this soi and service there is 500, nice girls.
I like this area as it quiet of a night and easy to escape the craziness. There is also a big air-conditioned pool room, snooker room, behind the bars just down from Areca Lodge, back towards the beach.

Sabuy Lodge on soi 2 is ok also but a bit far away if you want to be close to the action.

Hey mate,
Sabai Lodge Hotel, at Soi 2. also joins Sabai Inn i think which goes across to Soi1, entrance on Soi 1, or walk through the pool from Soi 2, and it is more upmarket than the soi 2 part. Really nice i paid about 1,500 a night for a few nights last month, nice pool nice place and nice staff. I was spoiling myself for a few days usually would stay in the Soi 2 part.
It is nice up there, i give them 20 baht in the bus right down to the action on beach road near walking street.
The baht busses seem to go down Soi 2 so you don't even have to walk down to beach road to catch them.

You can stay @ Sabai Inn (newer and directly across Soi) and have access to all pools at Sabai Lodge for less only 1050 baht per day (high season, 850 low) in a superior room. I stayed there and liked it a lot. I recommend you do the same. In-room safe, full bath, coffee/tea maker in room, excellent housekeeping and security checks for guests, and never a hassle or condescending remark or glance from the staff. They also have complimentary tea twice a week in lobby, which contains high quality snooker and pool table. A great value for the money in my book. MOOK

just got back from los - I spent 2 nights in Pattaya at the Sabai Lodge on Soi 2. This hotel was great, 3 brilliant swimming pools, air con, fridge with bar etc. Really nice hotel & close to everything.

Our rooms were 1000 baht a night but well worth it.

I stayed in Sandy spring hotel on soi 13 and its a super hotel, It has everything you need and is really guest friendly (No Joiners). It was actually the best hotel I stayed in Los, It was so good I already booked it for my next tour in Jan!!

By the way if anyone is thinking of booking the hotel, They should do so on this website www.scandibar.com because there rates are much cheaper than the hotel's internet rates

I booked the deluxe seaview rooms, Didnt get a chance to see any of the standard one's so I am not really sure but I didnt really book there for the seaview, I booked the deluxe rooms because I wanted a big room with a good location that was really guest friendly, The room I got was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and you could see the beach from there aswell, It was well worth the 1250bt we payed in april, The rates for January are 1350bt but I think its still well worth it to be honest!!

The sea view rooms are nice too - worth that little bit extra. It's very nice to sit out on the balcony with a quiet beer as the sun's going down. I agree with Ally, it's a great hotel all round.

Another good one is Residence Garden. I ended up staying there in Jan because Sandy Spring was full and now I really don't know which one to stay at when I'm over again next month. Residence G. is a little bit out of town, but that's good because it's nice and quiet during the day. And anyway you never have to wait more than a minute for a baht bus when you want to go into the centre.

It also has better food than Sandy Spring, which hardly bothered with it (unless things have changed since I was last there?) They have a great buffet on Wednesday night with an unbelievably good Elvis impersonator!

Yes I have heard loads of great reviews on the Residence Garden, Both have there plus points, The good thing about Residence Garden is they have in room safe which is always a bonus but I think for me Sandy Spring is in a much better location even with all the bath buses, But as you say its a tough choice but you could not go wrong booking either of these hotels, Out of all the reviews I read on hotels in pattaya, These were two of the best

PS: I never really eat food out of any of the hotels I stay in, As the food normally does be horrible and over priced, Actually out of all the places I stayed the only one with nice food was the seaview patong hotel, Really nice but a bit on the expensive side!!!

Hey mate how much was the pick up?
I use Mr T taxi service out of Pattaya and it is 1,000 tolls inclusive let me know i fyou need the phone number. His office is sort of opposite Arcaria Lodge in Soi Dianna. He might be ok for the way out id you have booked already for the way in.

Hey Mook,

I checked my receipts and they were les than I quoted sorry about that guys. The were 3 level of rooms and the most expensive was listed as 1,500 and I think that I got it down to around to 1,300 and that was the top level. And as Mook said there is nothing wrong with Sabai Inn and I have also stayed there and would recommend it and it is cheaper than the Lodge .

I stayed in Pattaya Marriott in February and May. Excellent hotel with big garden and pool, close (walking distance) to Walking street. Shopping center next door, ATM (important) at both entrances. NO joiner fee.
