Here is another version which is slightly better as it has numbered 'places on interest' and also other areas to look at from the drop down menu on the left. Also has 5 extra places to look around.
Which are... Chiang Mai, San Francisco, Sausalito, Yosemite National Park & Lake Tahoe.

The pictures in Pattaya were taken near the end of March 2008. If you double click the blue box in the upper left corner of the picture, it will give you the latitude & longditude, heading, elevation and date picture was taken.
Also , when passing shop windows, if you drag the photo to the side you can see the reflection of the car with a tripod mounted on the roof as their driving down the street taking the pictures.

It's very nice how you actually can drag/slide and turn that walking guy ... also the added features of bending the view and zooming into certain bars are excellent:-)

This program is very similar to a program that Google has been developing and using for the last year here in the US, it's called "street view" on Google maps. They currently have over 30 major cities photographed including; Los Angeles and all of the surrounding cities, the San Francisco Bay area, Las Vegas, and Boston.
If you go to Google maps and type in an address the map will zoom to that location. If it's been photographed there will be a button in the upper right corner saying "street view" and the streets that have been photographed will be outlined in blue (only public streets) also note it takes a few seconds to load. It has a little man icon that you can move around on the map and it works in the the same manner as Pattayaphotoguide.
At the bottom of the Pattaya photo's it says "powered by Google" so they may be using the Google Imaging Technology.
They'll probably have every street in the the world photographed in the next few years...between this and Google Earth there'll be no place left to hide

You are probably right Andymon, I remember reading headlines recently about Google Maps API (for developers) and street view was included there and some people had done some testing/examples with it, I never had a look at these.
Its surely this MapJack is based on.

That's the beauty of the site, useful for newbies and oldhands who want to look around but also useful for checking out hotels, restaurants etc...
I think this is one of the best things I've seen since google earth.
