Hi!

I wonder if anyone stayed at Residence Garden in Pattaya!? How about it.... Is there any joiner fee? Thanx for fast reply!

I've stayed there. Very nice hotel with no joiner fee. They are in fact surprised if you don't bring anyone home. However it is a bit out of the action. About a 10 minute walk into town. Baht buses go past all the time (20 baht into town)

The fare is actually 10baht.

I used to pay 20 all the time until I found this out, but the maximum for a farang is 10 (locals 5 baht) anything over 10 is a "tip". Now I only ever pay 10 in and around Pataya i.e. short trips.

For longer trips, I pay what I believe to be a fair "tip", for example I stay a lot in Jomtien and when I take a songthaew (bahtbus) from there to Royal Garden Plaza I pay the driver 40 baht. The reason being that I reckon a 3 mile trip is worth more than the official 10 baht fare !!

I've just booked the residence garden , will be there from 26th jan , got a good deal through FLB site for 1,350 baht per night. there is no joiner fee.

I stayed there last month and can't recommend it highly enough.

Good rooms, nice location, nice food by the pool, great staff. Absolutely no problem with guests or joiner fees - in fact the night security guard told the BG I brought back on the first night to take good care of me! (She did as well!) And the fact that it's a few minutes from being bang in the centre makes it a bit quieter in the daytime, which is good when you just want to sit on your balcony or by the pool. And like the guys say, there are baht buses going past all the time so it takes no time to get into town.
