A couple of questions

Hi there,
I am coming to Pattaya next week and will be staying at the Marriott for three days (package thing). After that, I don't have a hotel but would like to find a decent place (2000 baht or less) around the same area. Anyone know any good hotels which offer good swimming pools and facilities but don't cost as much?
Last time I was there, I was luckey enough to find a knock-out 18 year old on walking street who was just great. Are there any good places to meet women for LT other than just the go go bars or beer bars? Can it be better to just approach girls you like in the nightclubs?
Thanks and hope to meet some of you while I'm there.

John

Try Areca lodge on Soi Diana its an excellent hotel with execllent service, good quality rooms, two swimming pools and a gym, no lady fees and the room rates include 2 breakfats per day. It is reasonably priced and better quaility than the cheapy hotels. If you join Pattaya Sports club about 700 Bhat you will get a discount on the room rate.

Normally don't need to worry too much about booking before travelling to Thailand, and since you are on a package for the first few days you can just go round and have a look at a few of the hotels and make your mind up when you are there. On the other hand I'm not sure on present availability since the tsunami may have caused tourists to divert to Pattya instead of going to Phuket.

Have a look at www.pattayapages.com there are some hotels here which might interest you. Also, if you look through the previous threads you will find plenty of information. I once came across a post that gave a link to a site that stated whether hotels were guest-friendly. It's all there, you just have to spend an hour or two looking through it.

Cheers
Diz

Try www.sandyspringhotel.com which comes highly recomended by a lot of BMs and also on a lot of other websites I have checked. And I will be staying there in april.

Its guest friendly, Has a swimming pool and its right in the middle of the action, If you do decide to book this hotel, You should book it through this website below(Do not book through the link above) because you will save a fortune, Hope this helps

My favourite place.

The Queen Victoria Inn on Soi 6.

No pool but a 5 minute walk to nicest part of Pattaya beach. Get a big room for 650 a night.

The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff is friendly and you just can't say enough about the entertainment value of staying on Soi 6.

Cheers

Thanks for the help

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will check out those hotels when I get there. I was reading that the Marriott is quite strict about bringing back women which is quite disappointing. I don't want to have to pay them an extra 1000 baht to have a woman in the room. Do they still force you to do this? Is there any way to get arount having to pay these fees (other than just chaning the hotel)?

Looking forward to being there next week.
