Cool Info about "central" area

Hello,
I've never been to Pattaya.
I'll be probably there for one week in april.

Where is the "main" Pattaya area ?
I mean where are all the shops, bars, discoteques, and so on...
In South Pattaya ? Central ? North ?

Thanks in advance

Cool

Basically they are all over Pattaya, although don't wander too far from the beach. There's plenty of maps available on the internet, find one for Pattaya and you should be able to see Walking Street in the South Pattaya area. This is one of the main bar/shopping areas. This leads in to Beach Road (heading north) and the Beach road has plenty of bars/shops as well. You will also see a road called Pattaya 2nd Road which runs parallel to the Beach Road and between these 2 roads there are lots of Soi's which have bars. Soi's Pattayaland 1, 2 and 3 are the first of these if you are heading north from Walking Street up the Beach Road. There are lots of gogo bars here and the road is lit up at night with hundreds of neon signs. Go a little further and you will see some shops and then some more bar areas. Around halfway up Beach Road you reach Central Road and it gets a bit quiet here, but keep going and you come to Sio Post Office and the bars start again. Soi 9, Soi 8 and Soi 7 are lively, Soi 6 is known for it's "short term activities" i.e. go in to a bar and then take her upstairs for an hour. Keep going and you get to Soi 2 which is where most of the "soapy" massage places are. Here for about 1,500-2,000 baht you get 1½-2hours with a girl of your choice and some fun and frolics on the premises in a room where you will get bathed and massaged. The best part is when they blow up a lilo and cover it in foam, then get you to lie on it while they slide up and down your body !! Past Soi 2 I don't know, but you have plenty of choice from the places I have mentioned.

Also, there are baht-buses that take you around these areas and the kind of "do a lap" with certain roads being one-way. The head south on the Beach Road, turn left up South Pattaya Road (where the entrance to Walking Street is) and then left in to Pattaya 2nd Road. Some then turn left again at Central Road and keep going round, other go straight across and head up towards Soi 2. Fare is 10baht for these short trips, so it makes getting around easy and pretty much all Soi's go from Beach Road up to Pattaya 2nd Road. Once you have read this whilst looking at a map it will become a lot clearer.

Have fun
Dix

Yes, well worth a visit even if it's just to see Ripleys Believe It Or Not. There's a couple of good restaurants on the ground floor and a games/recreation centre on the top floor. The shops are a bit expensive but there's plenty of choice and if you go from the Beach Road entrance right through to the other end (Pattaya 2nd Road), there's a good bar outside and to the left called Shenanigans. It's a proper bar (no bar girls) that shows a lot of sports events, has a band playing most nights and does some nice food.

The disco's are mainly located on Walking Street. I've only tried Tony's and Lucifer's. I found Tony's to be expensive and shit! Lucifer's was awsome, hot freelance chicks everywhere, all craving your attention. Get there early for happy hour, but not much action, get there late and the sensational band will be fired up with chicks everywhere.
