Although I have never stayed there yet, I will be staying there in april and I have checked loads of reviews on a lot of websites, And people only had good things to say about it, Its really guest friendly(No joiner fee), It has a swimming pool and its centrally located with easy access to everywhere.
PS: If you are thinking of booking it you should book it through www.scandibar.com as they give the best rates, Much cheaper than booking through the hotel website and a lot of others I checked, Hope this helps

My first choice was between Sandy Spring and Flipper lodge on Soi 8 last year. The only thing that stopped me from going to Sandy Spring was that a few reviews said that the pool doesn't get a lot of sunlight. So we stayed at Flipper Lodge and I highly recommend it, however when we stayed there the roof top pool was closed for renovations, GO FIGURE! But they let us use the pool at the Flipper house on soi 7. I believe the renovations are now finished and I am staying there again in the first week of April.

been to Sunshine soi 8.
Very nice room, pool.
Staff very helpful,no problem with 1 or more guest
Even one day, a lady, who working at the reception call me at 6 pm in my room." hello Mister Andrey " i finish my work already for today and i'm alone now and i just want to know if i can come to see u in your room ? u have a lady with u already now ?
yes,and shiit, i'm sorry but i have lady with me right now, maybe next time ok ?
So no deal was done with the reception lady this time...
she was not the best looking girl but sure good enough for a shag.
I will stayed there again

Its funny because that would be the last thing I would be worrying about I also read a few good and bad reviews on both the flipper hotels so I suppose some people look for different things, But I have to say I have not read one real bad review about the sandy spring hotel to be honest.
I will still be staying there in april, So ill have a look for this thread when I get back and let you know what I think of the hotel .

soi 13
stayed in soi 13 on my last trip, had a view of sandy spring from my hotel(looked sweet),cant remember the name of my hotel i stayed in,to be honest its not really worth knowing ....(as u enter soi 13 from the beach road its the first on the right)i suppose it was passable.
soi 13 is a nice little walk to walking street(or take a songtaew, lazy bastards).
good couple of bars (possibly called irish bar???????)just as u leave soi 13(walking street direction, stones throw)and a few very nice ladys also, which is always a bonus

Sorry mate, but the reviewer is wrong about the pool at Sandy Spring. Maybe they got it mixed up with somewhere else. I've stayed there and I know it gets the sun there all day long.
I thoroughly recommend it and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. A lovely hotel in every respect. They charge a little bit extra for rooms on the top two floors but it's worth it as they give you fantastic views over Pattaya and out to sea.
BTW, the only reason I didn't stay there on my last trip was because it was full (new year) so I stayed at Residence Garden which was also excellent. I'll have a real dilemma cholosing when I go back this year!

You have many hotells in soi 13, where Sandy Spring is one of them (Sandy Spring is a good hotell !). The hotell mentioned by wylos is named AA Hotel. This hotel is an old one and it looks like it too......., but if you go futher up soi 13 (on the left side) there is a hotell called AA Apartment. This is a good hotell, and it have also a swiming pool on top.
If you are planing on staying for a month or to, there is an apartment hotell called PBC (Pattaya Beatch Condo) where you can rent an apartment for ca 15.000,- bath a month (+/- depending how big you want it).
All hotells in soi 13 is guest friendly.
Soi 13 is a very good place to stay in Pattaya, because you ar in the middel of every thing, but still there is not to mutch nois.
When you go down soi 13 (to beatch road) and turn right, and go a few meters there is a go go bar called Tahitian Qeen. This is Pattayas oldest runing bar. Wel worth a try!!!!! Thai laydis are not alowed to com inside before after 1900 (there are plenty of laydis inside) - they have also rooms for rent, but "not for stay long".........
If you go up soi 13 (to second road) and go left, there is a place called Tim Beer Bar. Lokated on the right hand side. This is also a good go go bar with very good music. If you talk to the dj they play any music(dvd) you like.
They have also very good rooms for rent. I stayed there earlier this februar.
If you go there say hello to the girls from To To .......
When you are in Pattaya you must try to visit soi 6 ! Many places worth visiting. There is also a good hotell lokated on corner soi 6/Beatch road. Dont remember the name, but a friend stayed there, and he recomended it. It is not a five star hotell, but you have sea wieu, and the price is low.

Noise never be a problem for me, even i staying 2 day on the ground floor in a deluxe suite near the swimming pool !
Just ask for a room on the top floor
They have 1 old wing and 1 new.
I staying in both and have no complain at all about room.
Different price but around 800-850 old wing-950-1200 new wing and deluxe room.

I can confirm this.
Some years ago I stayed also in the Sunshine. It was clean and the staff is very friendly.

Yes 100% sure, They are totally guest friendly and dont charge joiner fees.
But just in case they dont email you back, And you want a little bit of extra insurance, You should book through the link I put up on a previous post on this thread, It has the cheapest rates by a mile for this hotel and you get a free tiger beer everyday you stay there, Or if you dont like tiger beer, You just give them 10bt and they will give you a heineken instead, But the real bonus is you dont have to pay a penny until you get to the hotel, And they dont ask you for credit card details, So you can just ask them when you get there and if they tell you they charge a joiner (Which they wont). Well you just say no thanks and look elsewhere without losing a penny, Cant lose mate

Cheers. I booked through that link you posted. Better price than the hotels site. I usually stay at the Pattaya Centre Hotel on Soi 12, which is ok, but fancied a change.

I was staying at the Sandy Spring last year in september. I can sure recomend this hotel as one of the most guest friendly hotels I ever stayed on. Just go for it. The only problem is, that there is a short walking distance to the walking street but there is plenty to look at while walking.
Have a nive trip.
