Koh Samet

Planning to go to Koh Samet with the TGF from 2 - 8 April. Can anyone please advise on a place to stay (up to 1250 THB per night). Preference would be for somewhere on or near the beach.

It's a quiet place and only a couple of hours from Bangkok but if you bring your own TGF ot two it is supposed to be ok to chill out for a few days.

What I need is advice on a place to stay (up to 1250 THB per night). Preference would be for somewhere on or near the beach.

Thanks Bobby ...thats just the info I needed. Which one of the three would you recommend?

I am working in Japan and due to finish my contract on 31 March so I am really looking forward to spending a week or so chilling out with the TGF.

Unhappy Samet

hi Eddie eagle .I was in samet last February
I stayed at the hotel on the left of the beach as you approach by boat .I got a speed boat from rayong .didn't take to long really .I stayed for 2 days and that was long enough .all it is is 1 small beach with about 6 or 7 smart hotels on it
more of a honeymoon destination
I found it quite claustrophobic myself

You probably took the wrong boat and stayed at Malibu Resort. A very expensive place in an isolated part of the island....
Be sure to take a boat to Na Dan pier and stay at Had Sai Kaew or Ao Phai.

Pudsa Beach!

Ask for Pudsa Beach when you get there .. very nice and quiet Bungalow style , on the beach if you like .. hmm about 700thb if i remember correct at least in 2004! I was there for almost 2 weeks , "resting"
Mostly for couple´s or if you want to chill out BUT from Pudsa Beach it only take´s about 5min. to walk to SilverSands where there´s both BG´s and LB´s for those who like´s !
Walk another 5-10min. and your in the small village "SametCity" where they have a few more bars and more BG´s !
But you can never compare it with Pattaya or Phuket of cos´ 55555

I spent a few days on Ko Samet before christmas with my BG friend. Must say it was a refreshing change from the hustle & bustle of Pattaya etc. I found it very relaxing, took a speedboat from Rayong & stayed in a beach bungalow. No the island's not very big, though we hired a motorbike which was worth it.

Food's ok, Thai & western, 7-11 etc. Glad I went and would go again.

Cheers
Baz
