Need your recommendations on these hotels

Hi BMs,

I'm travelling to Pattaya on the 30th of July and staying there until 8th August. I have been going through various posts in this forum and have shortlisted a few hotels after browsing them. However, since this is only my second visit to pattaya and I have not stayed in any of these hotels in my earlier trip (stayed in Sunbeam as a package tourist last time ), I need your expert guidance on the facilities I'm looking for in these hotels. First, the hotels that I have short-listed:

1. Flipper House (or) Flipper Lodge
2. Queen Victoria Inn
3. Hotel Koenig
4. Sabai Inn
5. Carlton Hotel

I will mainly be going to the various Go-Go bars to pick up the cuties and since baht buses are a given, I'm not really concerned about the location. What I'm looking for in the hotels is below:

1. Girl Friendly!! (1-3 girls)
2. Within 500-700 baht range per night (since the time I'm there will be low season)
3. Decent restaurant where I can have breakfast without having to travel outside
4. Decent room space and furnishing. Rooms don't have to be extravagantly large but shouldn't be so small only that there is enough space for the bed and TV!!
5. Decent sized bathroom. Fun in just bed-room gets boring pretty quickly after-all! Be it shower or a bath, there should be enough space for at-least two people to comfortably practice bathroom gymnastics
6. Good room-service, and clean bed, bath & towels!
7. Proximity to necessities like laundry, Internet, shopping. In-house internet will be all the more better, but on the other hand, I wouldn't mind a 5 - 10 minute walk to any of these
8. Swimming pool NOT a must since I'm not going to Pattaya for swimming!
9. In room safe
10. And yes, friendly staff

Hopefully advance reservation is not required since the time I'm travelling is low season!

Just so you know, I have even read through the hotel reviews in http://www.pattayapages.com, but there is nothing better than hearing it from fellow BMs who have been to these hotels most recently! Help me with your suggestions folks!!

flippers are always a good option they are good hotels and good rates, the only thing is, is that if you are going to take girls from soi 7/8 then you may find that you will get shite from the girls as you are staying in that area, and bar fineing girls from there. ill tell you a great hotel its called welcome plaza it's on 2nd rd oppisite pattaya land 2 (well slightly off) its about 650 baht a night and its not in the main bar area so you can take all the women you want without getting hassle from every bg you decide to put ur di*k in. its 5 mins walk from walking st and you don't even need to get on a annoying baht bus. do a google serch and i think its just what your looking for. if you want to know anymore just pm me. good luck mate!

Hi louiswhitehouse

Thx for ur reply. Just to be sure, have you stayed in welcome plaza recently? Is this 650 baht price for the low season? Their web-site says its 750 baht for a standard room per night.

As to the cat-call problem, I guess I should use the spider-web system if I decide to stay in flippers But are flippers close to the amenities that I have listed? Laundry, internet etc?

i was there in may mate and i think it was 650 baht but i turned up on there door step and said i wanted a room for 10 days for 600 baht a night, they gave it to me for 650, so i was happy, even if it was 750 i would pay it cus it is worth the money, some rooms are better than others though so make sure you check before you buy. the flippers are good but i would rather stay in south pattaya than central, it's very nosey down soi 8 too which don't bother me cus i don't get in till the morning most the time! it's up to you really. internet is everywhere and just get a bg to do your lundry. you got to remember though you get what you pay for and you ain't gonna get nothing special for £8-9 a night but that don't stop you having a really great time in pattaya, it your like me then you will only be sleeping in it for a few hrs a day and taking a shower every now and then.

hey man if i were you dont even bother with the Sabai inn instead use the one opposite called the Sabai Lodge. Its owned by the same people.
The Sabai Lodge has everything you can wish for. Its on Soi2 which is 5 mins from walking street on bhat bus. Its guest friendly, the rooms are great and clean with fresh bedding and towels daily. Make sure you tip the maid though 100 bhat one off payment will do it. The safe is in the room which is opened by a pin you dont need to carry a key around. you can take back women with no problems, sometime they ask you to sign a disclaimer somtiems not.
Either way not a problem. Its about 850 thb a night low season if you write to Care who is in charge of the bookings she will dicsount it further.
Email her and tell her your a regular and she will do the rest.
forgot to say the food is cheap and very tasty never eat anywhere else.
All in all i have stayed at the Sabai Lodge 3 times and the Sabai Inn 2 times and too be honest i would not stay anywhere else.
The pools are great with music daily.

If you want her email to request a quote just aks.
hope this helps

JUST AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE BIGGER HOTELS why not try chaplins guesthouse on soi 3. small but very friendly and very very guest friendly. you can normally hook up with a few of the residents for a few boozy nights and willie the owner can always give good advice on the best places to go an what places are in and out etc.

i stayed at the bigger hotels before in pattaya but i always stay here now- you get some very interesting characters passing thru the bar including some of the expat bar owners.

also its close to everything inc big c an there are loads of bars around it without the need to go down to walking st all the time.

i think prices start from 450 b a night

Thanks sparky. I am visiting pattaya only for the second time so do you think this will be a good place to stay? As I mentioned in my original post, I'm looking for proximity to essentials like laundry, internet, shops etc. Getting around pattaya is not a big deal thanks to baht buses? Do you think I shd try Chaplins? Do they have a restaurant as well?

regarding the close proximity of internet an laundry there is an laundry next door but one with a same day service and loads of internet cafes with the nearest being under the cherry bar - and its airconditioned as well. also the cherry bar along with the atlantic has one of the finest selections of thai ladies that are in pattaya and even better they have a security service that stops all the hawkers harrassing you as you try to catch that pretty ladies eye. everything is literally o your doorspet including a soapie massage place and one of the finest massage places is directly opposite chaplins. the website for chaplins is

www.chaplinspattaya.com

take a chance and you wont be dissapointed especially if you like havin a few beers and a laugh as well as everythin else patty has to offer.

Rates

The Rates at BJ holliday lodge were 800 or 900 Baht.
The extra hundred was for a ocean view.
Both rooms were the same.
Call to make sure pool is open.

Just got an email back from Sabai inn that they are fully booked between 31 July and 9 August

Sparky,

Same same from Chaplins. Willie just wrote back that they're also fully booked between that period.

Only queen victoria seems to have rooms available. Flipper is quoting me 800 baht for one night. I think I will have to go with Queen Victoria.

Did I hear some one say that this is the quietest low season in Pattaya?
