bkk2pattaya

If you want to leave from BKK city you can get the skytrain to ekamai station, thats were the eastern bus station is, once there, buses go to pattaya every half hour for 100 baht.
Or you can ger a taxi to pattaya for around 1400 baht.

If you want to get there from BKK airport you can get a taxi for, again 1400 baht, or get a taxi to Mo Chit, theres a bus station there and its 100 baht to pattaya with buses every half hour or so (thai time)

Thai airways has mini buses from the airport, but Ive herd its a balls up, and the buses are those little van types were you need to be a sardine to feel comfortable.

Mr T

I have used the services of Mr T, which is Pattaya Taxi Service at Soi Dianna Inn
Office phone +66 (0)38 720318, mobile +66(0)12587716 Fax +6638720318.

If you book through him and you are flying into Bkk a driver will be there to meet you at the airport. There will be a driver waiting there with your name on a card similar to a limo service. The cost is about 1,000 or 1,100 including tolls. Tell the driver that you want to pay the tolls, you get there quicker.
You can also arrange to be picked up from a hotel in Bkk.

If the driver is from Bkk you may need to know exactly where your hotel is in Pattaya or have a map. This is he only drama that I have had, where the driver did not know Pattaya very well but I knew where I wanted to go once I seen a few familiar land marks.

I have never been let down and always been met by the driver and have not had to wait. If it is in the day time you can catch a bus. From memory it was about 200 baht but you have to catch a taxi from the airport to the bus station not to big a drama if you are not in a hurry. But you then still have to get to the Pattaya area when you get there as the bus station near Pattaya is not right in Pattaya.

I can recommend this service from my experience with Mr T.

The prices on the card that I have are 850 for taxi and 1,200 for mini bus, this does not include tolls though.

I have used the mini bus from the airport (not Mr T) that was cheaper but it was a pain as they wait until they have a few people and they also do not drop you at your hotel when you get there.

You can also be picked up from a hotel in Bkk by Mr T.

Mr T, easy and reliable and a fair price IMHO.

do u have to book via tel or fax only ?
is any email available where they would also confirm they will definately wait for u ???

by the way, in order to pay taxi, is it ok to change € or $ at the bkk airport or better choice is to exchange in pattaya?
or it doesnt make any difference and they have more or less the same
x-change rate (with/without? commission) everywhere?
thanx!

I do not have an email address. I have used the phone to book and then follow it up with a fax. When you fax clearly print/type your name and flight details.
The exchange rate at the airport is OK. I do not recommend getting into the taxi without the baht to pay them. Sometimes they might ask you for the toll money if they don’t have change.
Change some money at the airport and if it is night time I would suggest to get enough baht to cover your first night out at least.

x-change rate is as same at the airport as anywhere in pattaya ???

This guy is professional, i have never had that happen.
Just ask the price when you call. He has been in business for years doing this and is not an overnight operator.

I would not have recommended this service if he was suspect.
