Water [yeah I know its boring]

Hey Guys
I have been hearing some horror stories regarding the water shortage in Pattaya at the moment. Does anyone who has been there recently have any experiences to pass on I am still trying to make up my mind to take a side trip on this tour or not.

I was talking to a Pattaya resident last night and he confirmed that parts of town are without water for long periods but says that it really depends on who owns the properties as too wether or not they have water. This is Thailand after all!

Lightbulb

Water shortage lol. What about the millions of gallons they throw on each other during Songkran? A little forward thinking does wonders......but hang on this is Thailand. I love it.

Got to disagree with that last post. yes you do see many foreigners with giant water pistols, however uncountable amounts of thai families drove up and down beach road and walking street with huge water chests(Holding gallons of water) in the back of their pickup trucks.
Soi 4 in Bangkok was the same, every bar owner had either a chest or plastic bin filled with water.

Truck it in

From what I heard a few weeks ago, there were water trucks everywhere, delivering water to hotels and the like. I guess the hotels have no choice but to pay for it. So, if you're staying in a hotel you'll probably be OK. Some of the local residents, though, are without water at times.
