2 Hours

Two Hours, give or take 20 minutes depending upon the time of the day.

Ask your driver to use all the express ways in order to speed things up,150 baht extra in toll fees.
The problem with a lot of the airport drivers is that they do not know Pattaya nor where the Hotels are, so i suggest that you ask your hotel to send someone to collect you.

I always use this guy, he speaks good English and drives a nice car, he is a resident of Pattaya.

If you go out the front of the airport you can get a taxi for 1500 baht.
The taxi driver pays the tolls around 140 baht i think, but ask him beforehand just to make sure.
You just join the queue, there was about 50 people in the queue, so i went to the kiosk and asked for the price to pattaya and i was hailed a taxi straight away.
I would have been pissed if i was one of the people in the queue, but i still got in the taxi.
I think it is about 800 baht for a return from pattaya in a normal taxi not sure if they pay the tolls though.I got a better car for the return for 1200 baht (tolls included).

I,m not sure why it is cheaper for the return but it is.

i always book with my guesthouse in advance and the taxi has always been there waiting for me. always airconditioned- which is a must on that journey

cost 1000bht plus tolls a lot cheaper than an airport taxi and you dont get lost in pattaya

airport-pattaya

Last time when I took a taxi from airport to pattaya I paid by meter plus toll expenses. Altogether it was only about 1000 bath!!!
Of course, they rather want fo have a good fixed price.

you can get taxis at the airport but they want 2000 baht plus but i have a regular guy it's 1200 baht including tolls, i'll give you the number if you want, if i'm with a few lads then i normally just get a taxi at the airport and we split the cost, it's only about 500 baht each.

Come on guys, why take a taxi?

1. Step out the airport, go to the left.
2. At the airport booth buy a ticket (+/-90bath)to ecamai busstation. There is a bus every 30min.
3. At Ecamai busstation walk into the terminal, go to the office on the right side and buy a ticket to pattaya (cots +/-101 bath) walk through the terminal and leave it in the back at the right hand side. Take place in the bus, the seatnumber is on your ticket. Their is a bus every 30 minutes and it will bring you straigth to pattaya, it takes the highway, and no stops.Takes about 2 hours, same as taxi ;-)
In pattaya it will drop you off at the pattaya bus station. From there take a local taxi to your hotel (10-20bath)

Total cost: 211 bath, the 1000bath i saved is for the lady on that first night ;-)

WATCH OUT :
You can also buy a cheaper ticket(about 70bath) at the end of the ecamai terminal. Don't do this!!! This is for the busses that leave from the left hand side at the end of the terminal. Don't buy this, it stops every 10 minutes and it will take you 3 to 4 hours to get to pattaya :-(
Also ignore the guys screaming arround"pattaya, pattaya,..." they sell tickets for the busses on the left hand side (the ones that stops every 10 min to pick up people)

Regards, Steve

That's the cheapeast way to go to Pattaya, yes.
But after 12 h -18 h travel from europe the taxi from airport is by far the best transport to go there.
And if u can't afford to spend 1500 baht the first day in LOS, better to stay at home..IMO !
