Some recent pics
Spent some time recently up at Nai Thon and Mai Khao beaches. Took loads of shots and have attached a few of my better ones
Had a great time at Mai Khao watching the planes come in to land. I didn't realise you could literally stand under the flight path, so am planning on going back very soon to get some closer shots (and a haircut maybe looking at how low they come in over the beach!!)

Great photos and now I want to head over there too and take photos of airplanes.
Sounds like a good day out and practise with the camera, think I need to buy a zoom lens aswell. Maybe next week then and bring Nat and Ead with me for a picnic.

It would be a good day out, and you can walk back down the beach to Nai Yang and get some grub in if you can't be bothered with the picnic. But do pick a better day than I did, awesome clouds that day and lucky they didn't pass over me before I left.
I've got a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 lens with teleconverters (up to 400mm) here with me. I'll be happy to lend it to you for the day for some practice. Cracking lens, that is as good as the equivalent Nikon (for amateurs) for a fraction of the price.

Also, check the flight timetables as well before you go. I managed to see a Thai and Nok Air flight come in, but they were few and far between.
There's also a small tsunami memorial on the beach too, in memory of the Swedish and Finnish that lost their lives. The remoteness of the memorial facing out to sea makes it really quite poignant. couple of pics attached.

Great pics. I just bought a 70-300mm lens which I'm about to take out and test, will post some pics later.
The lens is a genuine Nikon item and cost me £99, which I thought was a bargain

£99, how is that possible? Sounds way to cheap.
I was actually looking at Sigma 70-200 myself, have been looking at it for a while but never made a purchase yet.
I bought a Sigma wide angle lens last year.

It's the 70-300mm not the 70-200mm all singing/dancing pricey one.
As I said Nicke, I'm quite happy to drop it off in the bar one night for you, you're welcome to have a few days with it. Would be worthwhile if you are plannign on buying one oin the future.
I'm looking for a wide angle too, but still not sure what to go for. probably go for the Sigma 10-20mm eventually, the Nikon 12-24mm is way too expensive.
