Cambodia pics
Finally getting round to processing my pics from the trip at Xmas.
This batch is from Tonle Sap in Cambodia, the largest freshwater lake in SE Asia - it actually reverses it's flow in the monsoon!! I have also read somewhere before that it is one of the world's richest sources of freshwater fish in the world.

Nice. I do like the 3rd one in the first batch, nice sky and great colours\reflections in the water.
One thing that I am interested in is those candid 'people' shots. Do you just take them without asking? And if so, do people ever get upset or do you clear off before they can react?

Yeah, I like that one too, but it's a bit of a muddle really, you can't make out the boats that well. It was the calmness of the water that attracted me to taking a pic.
All the shots were taken from a boat, so there was not much that they could really do about me taking pics of them!
Don't take many people shots really. But generally, I think it is more of a problem these days in western societies when taking shots of people in public. Remember a while back people getting stopped in Trafalgar Sq for taking photos, and plenty of people taking pics of kids were attracting attention (maybe rightly so)
I would think that you should ask first if you were taking a portrait shot of someone, but general public shots I don't see as a problem...after all how many cctv cams do we have in the UK now?

Great pics. I'm really enjoying seeing these.
You are right about westerners being a bit more jumpy about having their pictures taken. The only time in asia where someone gave me crap for taking their picture was in Beijing. It was a fruit seller outside my hotel. Thinking back on it I wonder if perhaps he should not have been selling the fruit out on the sidewalk there and was being a bit paranoid about who might see the picture. Apart from that most people have been eager to have their portrait taken, especially if you have a digital camera and can show them the picture after, works great in rural areas!

I like people pictures, so am curious about the picture\punch-in-the-face ratio.

I've never had grief, but would go by the rule that if you are taking a close-up of someone then it would be best to ask. If it's a group or reasonably far away then don't worry about it..
..Or just buy a longer lens

I tried but everytime I pointed the bloody camera her bf would walk in front of her...have a feeling he was well used to the attention already. You probably don't want to know this but she was super super hot!! Never seen her since

Hobbsy was saying about shoe mounted cameras but that was an entirely different collectors video..

nah, it was definitely (as you can be) a women and a fine one at that. There were fit girls everywhere that day, even the parade had straight girls/guys in it so pretty sure not a lb.
