Tuning cars for photoshoots..?
We're looking for cool cars for portfolio photos - possibly with some nice girl leaning over them :P
Anybody know where we could find some? Nissan Skylines are especially welcome.

Yeah i am struggling to remember any nice cars i have seen in Phuket and i am always on the look out, i reckon the nicest i have seen is an X5 and an MX5, now that is saying something.
Then i was in Patts for just 4 days and the cars there were unreal, hummers, ferraris, astons and maseratis.
Maybe worth travelling a bit to get some decent photos.

A prancing horse for 200 - 250 Euros for 24 hours of rental abuse is a bargain of anyones money.. Considering that an old testorosa or an aging 328 would cost a 1/4 mil USD (with parts to match) here.. I cant see any profit in renting one to the low end market..
While I personally think theres better cars for the money.. Nothing (and I mean nothing) has that italian howl that just screams high end maintenance like a ferrari.. They cost the earth, they are as unreliable as any old, hand built, TVR... They are as impractical as a dinner jacket on a train journey but (as Al Capone said.. you can never be over dressed) quiote simply nothing sounds like them..
I knew someone that had a 355 when that was the newest 2 seater (the new 456 was released same time in the touring end of the market IIRC) and quite honestly it was an object of lust.. Totally impractical, a money pit like owning a classic j boat, but a reminder of why people keep working even when they are already set.
I still consider the 250 GTO spider california (rare as rocking horse shit... that was fauxed for Ferris Buellers day off) probably one of the all time sexiest objects of kinetic art there is.. And certainly in my top 5 cars of all time.. The origional Ford GTO, the daytona, The 428 cobra, the 250 GTO spider, and the 68 mustang convertible (honorable mention to the 73 batman'esque vette)..
Excuse typos.. mullered and time for bed.. Just have a soft spot for cars as art tho..

The only places I can think to find tuned motors are the wheel and audio dealers - they usually have some pretty tricked out show cars. Used to see a blue Skyline GTR (34) around and the odd scooby and Evoaround but not much else as import costs are so prohibitive.

Thanks a lot for everyone - i guess it's a trip to Pattaya then! Another question: i forgot my driving lisence back home in Finland and i understand you need to have one on you should the police stop you. Now, is the lisence required in all motorbike cubic centimeter classes? And if so, how difficult (if possible even) is it to have the exam taken here in Phuket to get a local lisence?

Yes its needed.. Test taken in Phuket town, takes all day, can be done in English.. Cant imagine you could fail it..
Go to a driving lessons shop (one by the wat in Patong, One south end Nanai by family mart) and get thier book of road rules and street signs. Test is sort of 3 parts.. First is written with multiple choice questions.. Next is a reaction and eye test (you really couldnt fail that IMHO.. If you did stay off the road).. And lastly riding a bike around a little track out the back of the test center.. Literally just 200m round some obstacles.
You will need proof of address form (immigration 200 baht) and lots of copies of passport etc... I cant remember if you can get one based on 30 day entry stamps.. Presume you would be ok on a tourist visa tho..
