Low Light
It has been the crisp, clear night that I have been looking for so have been out again. Here's my best shot from tonight.

There is a cheat, I could not get the moon and the boat in the same pic, but I think it really works.

Looks good Steve.
What did you do to get the picture? Use higher ASA, low f stop, tripod?

I used manual focus, because the AF could not find anything, guessed at F11 and focused using the moon to meter. I used a remote to fire and close the shutter for around 400sec (six minutes) and knew that the boat would expose well because there was a lot of artificial lighting behind it, I was looking for a sort of halo effect.
It's been a really clear night and I was hoping for some star trails with the long exposure, but if I had left it much longer it would have over exposed I think.

Should have said: ISO 200, as low as my camera goes, tripod because of the long exposure and the shutter set to 'bulb' so I can choose when to open and close it.

One More
Just another from tonight that pleased me. I deliberately kept the moon out of the frame and hoped that there would be some light from it to make a nice picture. Converted to B&W in Photoshop.

Dickensian feel to the B&W in post #7.
